Thoughts and Truth from the Impossible Life

Open questions about Jesus to muslims

Open questions about Jesus to muslims:

WHY Jesus needed to be born of a Holy & Pure virginal birth.

WHY God choose to interrupt the process of human sexual reproduction of sperm & egg in order for Jesus to be born of His Spirit & the Pure womb of Mary?

Unlike Adam & Eve who God created for the purpose of human sexual reproduction by the mixing of their sperm & egg to reproduce their species & populate the earth.  Adam & Eve were created as the first of a species as was any animal whether it be a bird, dog, cat or even a rat, there had to be a first of every species.

Why when God choose for every species to be created by sexual intercourse & the mixing of sperm & egg, did God interrupt this proccess for the Holy Pure birth of His WORD Jesus Christ?

Why & for what purpose did God choose this ( once only) method?

Why did He choose for this child to be unique in Holiness & purity?

What was the purpose?

No human being was ever given such an honored birth, ALL human beings including the Prophets are born from an impure womb tainted by sexual intercourse, All except Him. WHY?

Response to The God Makers by Ed Decker

The God Makers

How much truth is there in the movie The God Makers? This page provides resources that explain the truth behind the claims made in the movie.

A MORMON CHALLENGES “THE GOD MAKERS” MOVIE
(formerly called “Errors, Distortions And Untruths In The Movie “The God makers”)
–by Robert Starling Revised January 10, 1995

The movie “The God makers” is described by a multi-denominational group, the National Conference of Christians and Jews, as “making extensive use of ‘half-truth’, faulty generalizations, erroneous interpretations, and sensationalism. It is not reflective of the genuine spirit of the Mormon faith.”

Unable to accept this assessment, the supporters of the film have demanded specific examples of the above-mentioned faults. The following is a partial list of such specifics in the approximate order that they are found in the film.

1. LDS temple services are said to be “reserved for an elite few”. In actuality, great efforts are made to assist all members to align their lives with the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that they may enter the temples. They are not “reserved” for the “elite”. If not all members worship there, it is by their own choice, and represents a fulfillment of the Biblical truth, “many are called, but few are chosen”, for “strait is the gate and narrow the way, and few there be that find it.”

2. After LDS mission president Harold R. Goodman described the interview for receiving a temple recommend, a misleading film edit was made so that he seemed to say, “that is the only way we can be with our Heavenly Father”. While it is true that certain of the highest heavenly rewards are contingent on making covenants with God in the temple (and living up to them), this is not required for salvation and entrance into the Celestial Kingdom where we will be in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Anyone familiar with LDS doctrine knows this, and the film was edited in such a way as to create a deliberate deception.

3. It was said that “many Mormons came thousands of miles and stood in the rain” to tour the Seattle temple before its dedication because “this may be the only time they may be allowed to enter a Mormon temple” as one of the “select few”. In view of #1 above, any LDS member who cared enough about the temple to make that kind of a journey would certainly find it easier to obtain a recommend and attend a temple nearer home. The statement was absurd and unfounded.

4. The Mormon “gods” were said to have “worked their way up” to become gods. This is alien to LDS theology. While we believe that we are the “offspring of God”, (Heb. 12:9, Acts 17:29, Ps.82:6) and “joint heirs with Christ”, (Rom.8:17, 1 Jn.3:2, Rev. 3:21) we can no more “work ourselves up” to godhood than a piece of coal can “work itself up” to become a diamond or a caterpillar can “work itself up” to be a butterfly. In each case the potential is there, but it is God who must work the miracle. He is the only “God maker”!

LDS strive to follow the Savior’s admonition to “Be ye perfect even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.”(Matt.5:48) And yet we know that “we have all sinned and come short” of that perfection. In fact, we know that we won’t achieve it in this life, and that we must all rely on the Grace of Christ to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. But “we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him”(1 John 3:2).

Following the admonition of Paul, we as Latter-day Saints “let this mind be in (us) which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God” (Philippians 2:5,6) We do not apologize for believing the Bible. Most Christians consider themselves “a child of the King”, yet they don’t know what that really means. Latter-day Saints believe the Bible when it says the faithful children of our Heavenly Father are to inherit the kingdom, receive a throne, and sit at the right hand of God. (Rev. 3:21)

5. The quote “As man is, God once was, and as God is, man may become” was credited to James E. Talmage. It was Lorenzo Snow who said this. This is a small thing, but it’s evidence of poor research and a disregard for accuracy. Almost any LDS high school seminary student could give the correct attribution for this quote.

6. To demean God’s Biblical command to “be fruitful and multiply” by referring to “endless Celestial sex” is an example of the tasteless sensationalism decried by the National Council of Christians and Jews in their report which totally discredited this film.

7. The principles of Celestial Marriage and Eternal Progression were said to be “secrets” that “Mormons don’t talk about”. This is untrue. While the principle of man’s becoming like our Heavenly Father is not discussed in our church meetings nearly as much as one would believe from reading anti-Mormon literature, it is certainly not a secret.

8. Mormonism is described as being far removed from “orthodox” Christianity. It must be remembered that orthodoxy is often subjective in its definition. Christ himself flew in the face of the religious “orthodoxy” of His time. But who was right? Our Lord, or the Scribes and Pharisees? In reality the LDS church is much closer to the “orthodoxy” of the original first century Christians than other churches in the world today. (The popular Protestant doctrine of salvation by faith alone is itself far removed from the historic Catholic theology by which “orthodoxy” was defined for over 1,000 years!)

9. A story is shown in animation of Elohim growing up as a mortal on a planet and later becoming God, our Heavenly Father. Somehow this is implied to be a fantastic and un-Christian doctrine. Yet this is exactly like the story told in the four Gospels of the mortal existence of our Lord Jesus Christ, who later rose from the dead and received the fullness of His glory as God the Son, equal in power and dominion with His Father. Jesus said that he did nothing that he had not seen the Father do. (John 5:19) If Jesus is God, yet lived as a mortal, then why could not His Father have done the same?

10. Blacks are described as being “neutral” in the war that was fought in heaven against Lucifer and the spirits who followed him. This is incorrect. LDS are taught that there were no neutrals in that conflict.

The implication in the film that the LDS church is racist is unjustified. Many blacks and other minorities hold responsible positions of leadership in our Church, and our Indian Placement Program (where LDS members open their homes to assist in the education of Native American children) is unequaled by any other Christian denomination.

11. God the Father (Elohim) is pictured “returning to Earth in human form from the ‘star base Kolob’ to have sex with the Virgin Mary in order to provide Jesus with a physical body”. The caricature of the Lord of the Universe knocking on the door of a home in Nazareth in the middle of the night is a total perversion of LDS beliefs and has rightly been called “religious pornography” by many Christians who have more taste than the people who produced this film.

Two marvelous events happened on that wondrous night (or day) when Jesus was conceived in Mary’s womb. According to the Bible, (1) the Holy Ghost came upon her, and (2) the power of the Highest “overshadowed” her. The first was necessary because no mortal can endure the presence of God the Father without the protection of the Holy Ghost. But Jesus is not the son of the Holy Ghost. God the Father is “the Highest”, and it is He who is the father of Jesus. To say otherwise is to “wrest the scriptures”.

12. A few speculative remarks from early LDS leaders regarding Jesus having married and fathered children is implied to be official Church doctrine, which it is not. However such a doctrine would not be un-Christian, since the Bible is silent on the subject. (In fact a Presbyterian minister in West Virginia has written a book giving Biblical reasons why he believes that Jesus was indeed married!)

13. Joseph Smith is described as “a young treasure seeker”. Although he did once hire out as a laborer for a man looking for treasure, this derogatory term is a definite “half truth” and in no way accurately describes his usual occupation or character. It is also highly questionable whether it can be substantiated that he was “known for his tall tales”, or if this is merely an invention of the film’s authors. His mother said he shared stories from the Book of Mormon history with family members, but these are no more “tall tales” than telling about Moses parting the Red Sea.

14. Statement from the film: “The Mormons thank God for Joseph Smith, who claimed that he had done more for us than any other man, including Jesus Christ.” This is patently false. The original quote from D & C 135:3 said Joseph Smith had done more for the salvation of men”save Jesus only” than any other man who had lived in the world. There is a world of difference in the two statements, and difference is the truth of what was said versus the deception of those who have deliberately misquoted Joseph Smith.

Defenders of the film have confused this misquote with another reference in LDS Church history (taken from the book also titled The God makers, not the movie, which is what I am dealing with here) where Joseph Smith said of “keeping a whole church together” that “neither Paul, John, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I!” (Let the reader compare the three quotes to see where the deception lies!) Here, Joseph did not say that he was greater than Jesus as the anti-Mormons have claimed, but rather that he had done a greater work than Jesus. Was this blasphemy? Or fulfillment of a prophecy made by Jesus himself? In John 14:12, the Lord said of whoever believed on Him; “the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do…”

Perhaps Joseph did get a little carried away in his boasting of what happened to be a true fact of history. But this is a human fallibility that Joseph shared with many other Biblical prophets (see Paul in 2 Cor. 11:16-33).In no way does this negate his prophetic calling nor invalidate the truthfulness of the church he restored. To even mention it shows how desperately the critics of the LDS church are grasping at straws. A quick reading of Joseph’s speeches or writings would show immediately that neither he nor his followers have ever considered him to be greater than Jesus Christ.

15. It is stated that “the Mormon church pressures individuals into divorcing their spouses when they are not measuring up to the Church’s standards.” This is totally untrue. Several ex-Mormons interviewed in the film said they were counseled by their Bishops to divorce. A quick look at handbooks for Bishops will reveal that the official Church policy is quite the contrary. LDS couples are counseled to make every effort to strengthen and preserve their marriages and families. If Ed Decker knows “literally hundreds of families with stories like this” (being advised to divorce), then why did he have to hire actors to portray 2 of the “estranged husbands” in the film? (These were in addition to two other actors playing attorneys.)

16. One of the major allegations of the film is that “there is a whole area of psychiatric care dealing with depression in the Mormon woman”. Much has been made of a 1983 TV documentary produced by KSL television in Salt Lake City called “Mormon Women and Depression”. (I watched it and have it on videocassette.) It is never mentioned, however, that this was only one part of a series of programs on depression in various segments of the Utah population. Its importance has been blown out of proportion… another example of the “half truths” in this film which were condemned by the investigators from the NCCJ.

It should also be noted that in the last few years there has been a rise in the awareness of depression in women in general (some think it’s brought on by the feminist movement), and a recognition of illnesses like Pre-Menstrual Syndrome, etc. If one is to believe the multitude of commercials heard on Christian radio stations (at least in the LA area) which advertise counseling and PMS treatment centers, it could more legitimately be said that “there is a whole area of psychiatric care dealing with depression in CHRISTIAN women”. To single out Mormonism as a cause of depression is at best false and misleading. I have no doubt that virtually 100 percent of LDS women who feel depressed would say if asked that their faith in Christ which they’re taught in the Mormon church is their greatest help in OVERCOMING that depression.

17. According to Ed Decker in the film, “Heaven to the Mormon woman is being pregnant for all eternity, one spirit baby after the next”. A mental picture is thus drawn which is supposed to be repugnant to today’s “liberated” women and somehow un-Christian. In reality, God has not yet completely revealed the process by which spirit children are added to His eternal family (of which we are all a part). But surely the process is more sophisticated than the nine-month gestation period and pregnancy through which mortal women suffer to give birth. It was only after the Fall that God said to the woman Eve, “I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children”. Therefore “pregnant” is a term which in all likelihood is applicable only to the post-Fall mortal condition.

18. Sandra Tanner is described as “considered to be one of the greatest living authorities on Mormonism”. Considered by whom? Anti-Mormons? Being an “expert” on only one side of an issue doesn’t make one an “authority”. Dr. Jan Shipps, a non-Mormon professor at Indiana University At Indianapolis is a much more believable “expert”. Her book entitled Mormonism, A New Religious Tradition is acclaimed as an objective alternative to Tanner’s polemic tome.

19. Mrs. Tanner says Utah (67% LDS) has a higher rate of divorce and suicide than the national average. Teen suicide is supposedly much higher than nationally. “This is partly due to the fact the Mormons emphasize perfection”, she says. (For more details on the questionable statistics, see #44 below)

Is it un-Christian to strive for perfection? Was it not Christ himself who said “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect”? (Matt.5:48) And though we, like Paul, have not “already attained” perfection, but “follow after” as we “press toward the mark”(Philip 3:12), is not the purpose of the church “for the perfecting of the saints”(Eph. 4:12)?

A truly heart-rending and tragic case is presented of 16-year old Kip Eliason who committed suicide in 1982. When he approached LDS counselors regarding his “sexual feelings that were in direct conflict with the teachings of the Church”, they lovingly reinforced those teachings and standards. This is implied to have led to the boy’s death, and therefore is supposedly another proof that the LDS Church is not Christian.

Ironically, an almost identical case of a teen’s suicide after receiving counseling from a religious leader has led to a landmark lawsuit filed by the second boy’s parents. Except in this case the defendant is not a Mormon but a leading figure in the Evangelical Christian community who is also an ardent supporter of “The God makers”. Did not Jesus say that we should cast out the beam in our own eye before worrying about the mote in the eye of our neighbor? Clearly, this kind of tragedy can happen in any church. Such exploitation of the Eliason family’s grief by the film makers is unforgivable!

20. Ed Decker charges that the Book of Mormon calls the “Christian body” the “whore of Babylon”. Actually two churches are mentioned in 1 Nephi 14:10–the “church of the Lamb of God” and the “church of the devil”. It is the latter which is described as “whore of all the earth”. However this church is further described in 1 Nephi 22:23 as actually a collection of “all churches which are built up to get gain, and all those who are built up to get power over the flesh, and those who are built up to become popular in the eyes of the world”…etc. Only those churches which fit this description need worry. (and according to the complaints of many Christians, there unfortunately seems to be quite a few of them)

21. Ed Decker also charges in the film that the LDS temple ceremony “mocks the Christian pastor and calls him a hireling of Satan”. The depicting of a nameless clergyman in the temple instruction is simply a teaching device where he recites the traditional creeds regarding the nature of God, which we believe to be in error. No disrespect or “mocking” of any Christian pastor or any denomination is intended. In fact, the minister’s integrity is demonstrated when he repents and changes his ways after he learns the truth from the apostles Peter, James, and John. (Note: Recent changes in the temple films have deleted the above altogether.)

22. The film’s narrator states that: “Mormons are instructed to use Christian terminology when talking to potential converts. Words such as ‘God’, ‘Jesus’, and ‘salvation’ all have different Mormon meanings which the outsider may not be aware of…”

LDS members use no different terminology when talking to non-LDS than when talking to each other. The sort of sinister deception that is implied simply does not exist. Any deviation from the Biblical usage and definition of the above words lies with the film’s authors, not with the Latter-day Saints.

23. Reference is made to “nine versions” told of Joseph Smith’s First Vision, “each of which contradicts the other”. These “unpublished” accounts are supposedly “deliberately kept from you by Mormon leaders” to conceal the truth. As a point of fact, the different versions were published in a feature article by James B. Allen in the official LDS church magazine The Improvement Era (April 1970) with the express approval of the “Mormon leaders”, for all to see. An in-depth article on this subject by Dean Jesse was also published in BYU Studies (Spring 1969).

A careful comparison will show that there is no more “contradiction” among the accounts than one will find in comparing the four descriptions of the life of Jesus found in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. In each case, different aspects of the events were emphasized or highlighted according to the needs of the intended audience at the time of the writing.

Similarly in Acts 9,22,&26 we find three different accounts of Saul’s “first vision”, with discrepancies as to who fell down and whether those with Saul saw the light or heard the voice, etc. Yet both Saul’s and Joseph’s visions did take place. (They are actually quite similar.)

24. The film points out that there have been many changes in the LDS scriptures in their various editions. This is implied to be a fatal flaw. If so, then the rest of Christianity must share the same deficiency considering the thousands of changes made in the Bible in the hundreds of translations and editions that have been printed. Usually changes in LDS scripture have been made to correct typographical or punctuation errors, or to make the text either (1) agree more closely with the earliest editions, (2) seem more grammatically palatable to the modern reader, or (3) express under inspiration a clearer meaning of the original intent. (see #28 below)

25. Statements said to be made by Joseph Smith and Brigham Young regarding the possible inhabitants of the sun and moon were reported from journal entries or from third-hand memory, and are suspect. To imply that those quotes really represent LDS doctrine is another in a long list of distortions in this propaganda film.

But the real issue is, can a prophet believe something which is found to be in error by the science of a later age? If the Bible is true, the answer is yes. Leviticus 11 and Deut. 14 list the hare as an animal that chews the cud, which science has disproved. And Gen.30:35–43 says that placing striped sticks in view of mating animals results in striped offspring. …Moon men? These examples sound equally absurd in light of modern day scientific knowledge. The Rev. J.R. Dummelow in his One Volume Bible Commentary said something about the author of Genesis which could equally be applied to Joseph Smith or Brigham Young: “His scientific knowledge may be bounded by the horizon of the age in which he lived, but the religious truths he teaches are irrefutable and eternal.”

26. Decker says: “The true doctrine (of the LDS church) teaches that there is no eternal life without a polygamous relationship”. This is blatantly untrue. The church teaches that the highest heavenly rewards are reserved for those who enter the “new and everlasting covenant” of eternal marriage, but they can be married to just one person and receive the same rewards as anyone in a “polygamous relationship”.

On polygamy:(the practice of which was officially ended by the LDS church in 1890) –if Joseph Smith seemed reticent to tell his wife Emma about this law of God at first, it is an understandable human foible. (Especially if you knew Emma!) But this no more disqualifies him from the office of prophet than the similar frailties seen in Abraham’s lie to Pharaoh about Sara being his sister, or in Moses’s boast to the Children of Israel that he would give them water from a rock in the desert. (Num. 20:7–12. His failure to acknowledge God on that occasion kept him out of the Promised Land as punishment, but did not negate his prophetic calling or nullify the scriptures he wrote.)

In addition, it should be noted that these same ancient prophets –and their followers– also practiced polygamy… with the approval and sanction of God.

27. Sandra Tanner charges that LDS church historical records are hidden from the members in some sort of dark cover-up. Obviously the rare and valuable documents must be protected from public access, just like the closed stacks in many libraries and museums. Nor would the Church see the need to admit a known anti-Mormon like Mrs. Tanner.

Incidentally, Mrs. Tanner and her husband have made a substantial business of publishing those same LDS church historical records that are supposedly “hidden”. They must not be too hard to get hold of!

28. Decker says that Christian scholars are “always refining” the scriptures in the quest to “improve and validate the authenticity of the Holy Scripture”. Then he says, “In Mormonism it’s completely opposite”. And yet when LDS efforts are made to “refine” scripture, resulting in changes, he decries these changes as proof of the non-validity of LDS scriptures. (see #24 above)

Come on, Ed… you can’t have it both ways!

29. Dr. Charles Crane is presented as an “expert on Mormon archaeology”. He is actually a Church of Christ minister with advanced degrees in “Ministry”, “Divinity” and Psychology, (not archaeology) who in correspondence with me says he has “sought to study the archaeology of the Book of Mormon”. He revealed no details on the extent of his study, so I must question his “expert” status.

30. Both Crane and Tanner claim that because the cities of the Book of Mormon are not found on modern maps, “there is no evidence for the book, any yet it’s supposed to be a historical record”. Dr. Richard Fales (“author, lecturer, archaeologist”– what are his credentials?) says “not one single artifact has been found that even remotely relates to the (Book of Mormon) civilizations”. He calls the book a “fairy tale”.

Point of fact: Many books have been written detailing dozens of archaeological parallels between the Book of Mormon and the history of ancient America. The Book of Mormon’s claims regarding wheeled vehicles, great walled cities with prayer towers, baptismal fonts, the use of cement, the presence of horses and elephants, etc. seemed absurd in 1830 when it was published. Yet these claims have been vindicated by archaeological discoveries since that time.

In addition, one particular artifact (Stela 5 Izapa from Chiapas, Mexico) contains a large and detailed drawing of the Tree of Life which appears to be a direct connection with the Book of Mormon. Competent scholars have found over 50 elements in Stela 5 which correspond to parts of a long and involved vision given by God to the prophet Lehi in the 8th chapter of 1st Nephi. This artifact was discovered by a Smithsonian dig in 1941, and to date no non-LDS scholar has offered a viable alternative interpretation of the inscription. –Not bad for a “fairy tale”! (see the Ensign June 1985 pp.54–55.)

A note on the film’s statement that “archaeology has been able to prove the existence of all great civilizations”: It was only in the 1800’s after many years of struggle against the archaeological “establishment” that the explorer Heinrich Schliemann finally found proof that unearthed the ancient city of Troy described in Homer’s epic poems. Until that time they were considered to be in the realm of “fairy tales”. Who’s to say that in a year or two the great Book of Mormon cities of Bountiful or Zarahemla will not be uncovered and make news around the world? What will the anti-Mormons say then?

Anyone sincerely wishing to study scientific evidences of the Book of Mormon should contact the Foundation for Archaeological Research and Mormon Studies (FARMS) for a catalog of scholarly papers on a wide range of topics.

Their address is P.O. Box 7113 University Station, Provo, Utah 84602.

31. The film states that: “Mormon missionaries are converting people throughout the world by explaining to them that archaeology has “proven” the Book of Mormon to be true.” This is false. Sometimes archaeological evidences are shared with people to pique their interest and get them to seriously consider the book, but LDS missionaries are trained to teach people that the ultimate test of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon is through an answer to prayer and a personal witness from the Holy Ghost, as described in James 1:5,6. It is only through the Spirit of God that true conversion takes place.

32. Regarding the Book of Abraham in the Pearl of Great Price, which was revealed to Joseph Smith through the gift and power of God: The film says, “Several famous Egyptologists have now translated it (the Egyptian Papyri associated with the Book of Abraham) and have found that it doesn’t have anything to do with the time of Abraham at all”.

At least one of these “famous Egyptologists” –Dee Jay Nelson– made false claims about his academic background and his alleged employment as a translator for the LDS church. How many other holes are there in “The God makers” story?

The sincere investigator on this topic will find a wealth of information in Dr. Hugh Nibley’s articles in BYU Studies (1968 and 1971) as well as those in the Improvement Era almost every issue from Jan. 1968 to May 1970, plus one in the Ensign, March 1976. Also see Michael Rhodes’s study in BYU Studies 17 (1977). Also Nibley’s book, “The Message of the Joseph Smith Papyri” (1975)

33. The 1978 revelation to President Kimball to give the LDS priesthood to blacks was said to have come because of “social pressure”. This is wrong. The greatest period of pressure of this nature came in 1971. By 1978 it was hardly an issue because the civil rights movement was at a comparative ebb. The revelation came as an answer to prayer from God’s prophet and mouthpiece on Earth, at a time when increasing numbers of blacks were beginning to join the LDS Church. Church leaders desired to extend all blessings of membership to these people, and after much supplication God heard their prayers.

34. The film says that “the finality of Mormon theology is not based on evaluation by scriptural evidence”, and that LDS missionaries do not encourage the people they’re teaching to read from the Bible, only the Book of Mormon. This is untrue. In the Uniform System for Teaching Families, (the basic lessons that LDS missionaries use all over the world) they are expressly instructed to: “use only Biblical references with investigators”. Nothing is taught in LDS doctrine that is in conflict with the Bible, and every opportunity is taken to point this out by studying the relevant Bible verses. (LDS prefer the King James Version)

35. The witness of truth by the Holy Ghost in the heart of the individual person –described as a “burning in the bosom”– is said to be a “totally subjective” process. This is incorrect, as many Christians will testify. There are many times when one is walking in the Spirit that “the heart will be told what the mind cannot know.” And yet the reliance by LDS on the Spirit for guidance and inspiration is implied to be somehow un-Christian! The makers of “The God makers” would prefer to gamble their Eternal Salvation on someone’s (usually theirs) subjective interpretation of this Bible verse or that. (My Baptist friends tell me that when you get any three Baptists together on a Bible verse you’ll get at least five opinions!)

Latter-day Saints rely heavily on the Scriptures, both the Bible and our own. But we believe that “no prophecy of the scripture is of private interpretation”(2 Pet. 1:20) “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea the deep things of God…. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth: comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”(1 Cor.2:10–13) This is the real test.

The Saints in the days of Paul relied on the witness of the Spirit instead of hermeneutics. The Saints of these latter-days believe that true Christians must still do the same. It is the “rock” of revelation from God to man (as the Christian singer Sandi Patti so eloquently puts it in her wonderful song) on which the true church of Jesus Christ is built; not someone’s Biblical interpretation, however learned. The “Born Again” experience itself necessitates the Holy Spirit witnessing to a person that Jesus is indeed their personal savior, Lord, and Christ. It cannot come by Bible study alone.

36. The “re-enactment” (so-called) of LDS temple ceremonies is perhaps the most disappointing and offensive part of this film. An utter disregard is shown by the film makers for the sensitivities of other human beings. Ceremonies that are considered sacred by millions of people are trampled upon, ridiculed, and distorted, with definite purpose and malice aforethought. A great many right-thinking Christians have expressed revulsion at this kind of propagandistic approach.

The producers of the film have admitted their use of deception to obtain stock footage of temple interiors from the LDS church information services, and to arrange interviews with church officials who appear in the film. These despicable tactics speak for themselves.

The LDS temple ceremonies are said to be “Mason-like” and “occultic”. There is nothing “occultic” about the covenants that LDS people make with our Heavenly Father in the temples, nor about the work done there for the dead. In fact one of these ceremonies –baptisms for the dead– was mentioned as a practice of the early Christians by the apostle Paul in 1 Cor.15:29. This is merely a way in which these necessary ordinances can be performed as a vicarious service for those who have died without the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and accept Him as their Savior through baptism. (Most Christian denominations have a hard time explaining what happens to these people.)

What is described as a “fanatical program to evangelize the dead” is simply the fulfillment of prophecy in the last verse of the Old Testament (Malachi 4:6) that in the last days God will “turn the hearts of the children to their fathers”. What is so “fanatical” or sinister or “occultic” about that?

If there is anything “Mason-like” about the LDS temple ordinances, it might be explained by the fact that the Masonic order began among workers on the great Temple of Solomon. If God is “the same yesterday, today and forever”, then the same ceremonies were performed by God’s righteous believers in the Temple of their day. If God then revealed the ordinances to the prophet Joseph Smith in our day, a corrupted version handed down through the centuries by the Masons might still bear some resemblance to the original.

37. The sacred undergarment worn by LDS who have made special covenants with God in the temples is said to be “unattractive” and “de-humanizing”. (Why should it be attractive since it is not meant to be seen? It’s an undergarment!) These garments are patterned after the garments of skins that God made for Adam and Eve when He cast them out of the Garden of Eden. (Gen.3:21) Perhaps the film makers should take up their complaints with the original Tailor!

A parallel to the LDS temple garment can be seen in a similar item of under-apparel worn by the most orthodox Jewish sects– a holdover from Israel’s righteous days when they performed temple worship thousands of years ago. It should also be noted that a similar item is mentioned in the earliest Jewish and Christian writings such as the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi codices.

The extreme measures referred to in the film that are supposedly taken by LDS to avoid ever losing physical contact with the temple garment are totally incorrect. There are many occasions such as visits to a doctor, swimming or playing basketball, etc. when “temple Mormons” rightly do not wear the garment. The film portrayed a caricature that does not exist.

38. Another caricature is built up of Joseph Smith as a “treasure seeker” who was “involved in the occult”. This description does not fit the man as all, as revealed in many accounts regarding him written by his contemporaries. (See #13 above) The mistake is also made of trying to judge Joseph, who lived in the mid-1800’s, by the culture and practices of the 1980’s. Similarly a person in the next century might say that having a Jack o’lantern on Halloween is a sure sign of being “involved in the occult”, and the hobbyist with a metal detector is a “treasure seeker”!

39. An avowed Satanist’s book is used as an authoritative source to come up with a mythical god “Mormo” whose followers are allegedly called “Mormons”. Obviously if the same book were to have reference to a god “Metho” whose followers were called “Methodists”, they would give it no credence or notice, except perhaps for a good horse laugh. To stoop to such antics in a supposedly serious “documentary” is inexcusable.

40. Likewise, the claim that the Chinese word “Mormon” means “gates of Hell” relies on an extremely tortured translation and is meaningless. It’s just another example of sensationalism. The National Enquirer would win a Pulitzer Prize in comparison to the writers of this film!

41. Some sort of sinister implication (complete with evil-sounding music to match) is made in speaking of the “wealth” of the LDS church and great land holdings. The narrator fails to mention that virtually all of the Church’s real estate is identified as meetinghouses for LDS members (built with as little as 4% of the cost paid by the local congregations), schools, and farms where food is raised to feed the needy in the model LDS welfare program.

The LDS church does have some stock in the parent corporation that owns the LA Times, but can hardly be considered a “major stockholder”(especially in view of some of the articles unfavorable to the Church which have appeared in that paper and its sister publication in Denver).

42. Money is said to be “extracted” form LDS church members in a “mandatory” tithing program. These buzz words are by now quite tiresome, and again they are totally false! Tithes and offerings are no more “mandatory” for Mormons than for other Christians. As with any principle of the Gospel there are certain rewards (both temporally and spiritually) for obedience. But to show the picture of the young Deacon gathering Fast Offerings and imply that he was “shaking down” the Mormon mother for tithing… come on now! (The Fast offering is a separate contribution where members fast for two meals on the first Sunday of every month and give the cost of the meals into a special fund to feed the needy. This practice is now being picked up by some other Christian churches.)

43. Mormons are said to “own a substantial portion of Hawaii”. It is not indicated whether they are referring to individual LDS members or to the Church. In either case the truth is probably stretched quite a bit.

44. Utah (identified as 75% Mormon–actually it’s closer to 50%) is said to “rank among the highest” of the states in divorce, suicide, child abuse, teenage pregnancy, venereal disease, and bigamy.

Utah (according to Atlanta’s Communicable Disease Center) is 47th among the states in venereal disease. This is hardly “among the highest”. In view of this kind of error, the rest of the statistics cited are highly suspect. The following, however, might explain any unexpectedly high figures for the state of Utah if they proved to be correct:

Utah is among the lowest states in abortions, which accounts for more teenage pregnancies carried to term. And since most young LDS people don’t plan to be “sexually active” as do teens in other states, they are more likely to become pregnant when they do make mistakes. And since they try harder to “do the right thing” by getting married when they get pregnant, there are more teen marriages and hence more divorces. And since Utah has some of the most strict child abuse reporting laws in the nation, (you must legally report even any SUSPECTED abuse) there is perhaps more reported child abuse than in other states. (Not necessarily more abuse.)

Therefore it can be seen that the supposedly damning statistics reveal in actuality the good “fruits” of the LDS church. The film makers failed to mention that of active LDS church members married in the temple, the number of divorces is only ONE-FIFTH the national average.

45. The film says that “Mormonism undercuts the Bible”, which is definitely false. Our 8th Article of Faith states, “We believe the Bible to be the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly.” We believe it to be “verbally inspired” as do other Christians. That is, that it was “inerrant” as it flowed from the mind of God through the pens of the original writers. However we believe (along with most Christians) that copying and translation errors do occur. No Christian would accept as God’s word any verse of the Bible which scholarship proves to be mistranslated, and neither to Mormons.

The film also says that Mormonism “undercuts all the other churches”, which is misleading. Although we believe that the complete fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is found only in our church, we believe that almost all religions contain some of God’s truth and are beneficial to mankind.

It is not the Latter-day Saints who brand another faith as a “cult” and seek to exclude its members from fellowship with other Christians. We leave that activity to the anti-Mormons.

46. It is said in the film that many LDS church members only remain in the church because “Mormonism is a nice place to raise your family…it’s the easy road”. That description may be true in Utah, but it does not account for the rapid growth of the LDS church in other parts of the world like Latin America and Japan, where becoming a “Mormon” is anything but “the easy road”. Many millions of people have decided to follow Christ as the Holy Ghost has led them by joining the LDS church, and in doing so have lost their jobs, families, –everything. Sometimes even their lives.

47. “I learned that the God of Mormonism was not the God of the Bible.” This statement near the end of the film shows that the person who uttered it has an incomplete knowledge of both Mormonism and the Bible. The God of Mormonism is not the God of the Nicene Creed, but He definitely IS the God of the Bible.

48. “But there’s fraud…deliberate misrepresentation”. This quote from Dick Baer aimed at the LDS church applies more aptly to his propaganda film “The God makers”, as has been pointed out herein.

The foregoing 48 specific points constitutes a partial list of the errors, distortions, and untruths in the film. These comments will also apply equally to the same problems found in the book of the same name, written by Ed Decker and Dave Hunt. A more complete response to the book has been written, but the major points of emphasis will probably not vary a great deal from those of the film which have been dealt with here. The book is called “The Truth About The God makers”, and it is available at almost any LDS book store. Or more information on the book response may be obtained from the author, Gilbert Scharffs, 2898 Mill Creek Rd., Salt Lake City, Utah 84109.

It is unfortunate that the authors and producers of the “God makers” film and book have felt it necessary to expend such great amounts of money, time and energy to persecute the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is equally unfortunate that so many good Christians and pastors have unknowingly “aided and abetted” in this persecution by opening their churches and their pulpits to those who have been perpetuating it. Hopefully, this response will shed some light and lead to a better understanding between Latter-day Saints and their fellow disciples in the Body of Christ.

In his brilliant essay on “What it Means to Be a Mormon Christian”, BYU English professor Eugene England shared a quote from the great reformer Martin Luther: “The kingdom of God is like a besieged city surrounded on all sides by death. Each man has his place on the wall to defend and no one can stand where another stands, but nothing prevents us from calling encouragement to one another.” England then goes on to say, “It would be tragic if we Christians, standing each in our different places, were to desert our place on the wall…to turn on each other.”

Intolerance has no place among Christians. Jesus himself taught that lesson when his apostles came to him saying they had forbidden one casting out devils in His name because “he followeth not with us”. The Savior said: “Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.”(Luke 50:49). Likewise in Acts 5:27-39 we find: “Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.” This is a commandment from Jesus that the producers of “The God makers” and those who assist them need to learn and obey.

The foregoing is my own work and does not represent any official statement of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Refuting The 10 most Islamophobic moments in the 2012 elections from Salon dot com

The 10 most Islamophobic moments in the 2012 elections

(Salon.com)

10. Allen West is Allen West – Florida Rep. Allen West is known for making inflammatory statements about pretty much everyone, but he has particularly targeted Muslims. This cycle alone, he’s commemorated 9/11 by screening an anti-Islamic film, said that Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison “really does represent the antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established,” and another time theorized that “George Bush got snookered into going into some mosque, taking his shoes off, and then saying that Islam was a religion of peace.”

100% Correct, We need more politicians and people in general to state the truth specifically when it is not “politically correct”

9. Republicans go after one of their own – When David Ramadan, a longtime Republican Party activist and protege of Grover Norquist,  ran for a seat in the Virginia House of Delegates in 2011, the Islamophobia network sprang into action. Norquist, of course, is a secret Muslim Brotherhood agent according to these people, so his actual Muslim bud must be worse. Pam Geller called him an “Islamic supremacist,” David Horowitz warned Virginia Republicans not to “lie down in the camel’s bed,” and Frank Gaffney accused him of having ties to Hezbollah. There were nasty ads and exchanges at town halls, but Ramadan won the GOP primary and eventually a seat in the House of Delegates.

100% Correct – lets hope the voters in the district are educatable

8. And again, but this time they call him a “terrorist” – The Islamophobia trickles down all the way to the local level, we found, in the case of Nezar Hamze, a Republican from Florida who tried to join the Broward County Republican Executive Committee but got turned down by a vote of 158 to 11. He met all the requirements, but people in his own party distributed pamphlets labeling him a “terrorist.” The basis? Hamze is head of the local chapter of CAIR.

As CAIR is a terrorist organization, it makes perfect sense to decline to include the local terrorist in chief. Good work Broward County Republican Executive Committee.  Any active member of CAIR is automatically a terrorist supporter.

7. Obama the closeted Muslim – Plenty of people have suggested that President Obama is a secret Muslim this cycle, but California Republican congressional candidate Sam Aanestad wins the award for his remarkable forthrightness: “I was asked, do I think [Obama]‘s a Muslim, and the answer is yes, that is his background. That is his beginning. Is he a Christian today? There’s no way that you or I can tell that. But his background, his upbringing, his tradition, his holiday observances all come from a Muslim background.”

Congratulations Sam Aanestad for the bravery to state what any thinking American already knows is fact.

6. Even worse than Allen West – After Allen West fled his old district after redistricting, the good people of Florida’s 22nd got a new Islamophobe to kick around: Adam Hasner, the former Florida House majority leader. The Republican is a close personal friend of anti-Islam bloggers Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, has invited notoriously anti-Muslim Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders to speak in Florida, and once skipped the Florida Legislature’s opening prayers because they were being delivered by an imam. When Salon highlighted his Islamophobic record in August, Geller said it was only a matter of time before we were “getting measured for a suicide vest.”

Another intelligent and brave American Patriot.  Congratulations for refusing to sit for the opening prayers delivered by the imam of a false religion.  The rest of the Legislature should be embarissed that only One brave person stood firm against the religion of hate.

5. A real-life Muslim in Congress! – Democratic Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison was the first Muslim elected to Congress, so he’s used to it, but his Republican opponent, Chris Fields, accused him this year in a mailer of being “militantly anti-America.” That’s nothing compared to how Fields’ GOP primary opponent came right out and called him a “radical Islamist” in the statement announcing her candidacy for his seat. In fact, Ellison’s religion was her primary motivation for running.

By definition Muslim means anti-Constitution, anti-freedom of speech, anti-freedom of religion, replace all laws with Sharia (Islamic Law).  And he is supported by and a supporter of the terrorist group CAIR.  Thus, Keith Ellison is anti-American. (There is no such thing as “radical Islamist”.  There is only Islam or not Islam.  All of Islam is radical.)

4. A real-life Muslim in Congress! Part 2 —Democratic Rep. Andre Carson of Indiana was the second Muslim elected to Congress and has so far attracted less hate than Ellison, but when he was  praising the innovative ways parochial schools remain relevant, including Muslim schools, it caused a grade-A right-wing freakout, complete with hyperventilating from Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh about how Carson wanted to force students to learn the Quran. One assumes that if Carson had praised St. Mary’s Junior High School instead of a madrassa, no one would have batted an eyelash.

“Madrassa = emphasis on indoctrination in the qu’ran and islam.”  There is no place for this indoctrination in the school system.  How many young, brainwashed terrorists have already come out of the Saudi Madrassa in maryland near Washington DC?  Why do ALL the textbooks call Jews pigs and teach that Jews and Christians are to be subdued and pay a “donot molest me” tax or killed?

3. Islamophobia-off 2012 – Rep. Diane Black managed to beat out Lou Ann Zelenik in the Republican primary in Tennessee thatbasically came down to an Islamophobia-off. The debate mostly centered around the planned mosque in Murfreesboro, which has become a lightning rod for anti-Muslim sentiment in the area and across the country. In fighting the mosque, Black charged that communities need to protect themselves from the “jihadist viewpoint.” But Zelenik, the executive director of the reliably Islamophobic Tennessee Freedom Coalition, thought Black’s stance didn’t go far enough, firing back: “I will work to stop the Islamization of our society, and do everything possible to prevent Shariah law from circumventing our laws and our Constitution.”

Two intelligent Patriotic Americans.  Too bad both couldn’t be elected.

2. Joe Walsh (probably) causes a hate crime – Rep. Joe Walsh, the Tea Party darling poised to lose his seat in November, warned  in August that “a radical strain of Islam in this country … trying to kill Americans every week.” “It’s here. It’s in Elk Grove. It’s in Addison. It’s in Elgin. It’s here,” he added. Hours later, a man shot at a mosque in the district, narrowly missing a security guard outside as 500 people prayed inside.

All Islam is radical.  There is no moderate Islam.  There is only Islam or not Islam.  And, Patriot Rep Joe Walsh can not be held accountable for the actions of one misguided individual, nor is there any relationship to the truth he stated and the actions of the assailant.

1. Michele Bachmann’s witch hunt – Then there’s the Tea Party queen herself, Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann. Bachmann is facing a tighter-than-expected race against Democratic hotel magnate Jim Graves, and she has possibly even outdone herself this cycle with allegations that Huma Abedin, a senior aide to Hillary Clinton, is tied to Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood and potentially part of a conspiracy to influence U.S. policy through her position. Bachmann also used a speech at theValues Voters conference to fear-monger about President Obama’s policy in the Middle East: “The fact is this administration is virtually outlawed understanding who the enemy is and at every turn the enemy the president is persistent on apologizing for who we are as Americans,” she said.

Of course Huma Abedin is a terrorist sympathizer.  Every thinking informed person knows this fact as well.  Her ties to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood are not a secret.  And calling out the failed pro-islamist foreign policy of President Obama is again simply making a statement of truth.  Not one thinking knowledgable American is deceived into thinking Obama’s policies have been anything except a dismal failure.

1 Peter 5 8

1 Peter 5:8
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Be careful. Be alert. Two hidden eyes are zeroed in on you. The beast is hungry and he is stalking his prey. He is deceptive and deceitful. He will lure you in with what is alluring to you. He will make sin seem innocent. He will make folly feel fun. He makes the first step of disobedience appear to be solid ground. Lying is his native language. He is not all-knowing, but he knows all about the human condition. He sets his traps accordingly.

He is the author of confusion. He makes lust feel like love. He makes luxuries look like necessities. He can make us mistake selfish ambition for God’s will. His offerings are sweet and he keeps them coming until our soul is nauseated. He makes gross sin enjoyable…for a short time. He blinds us with shiny things. By the time we come to our senses, we are entangled in his snare.

So, be careful. Be alert. You will need to be in constant communication with the Father. You will need to keep following hard after the Son. You will survive only by the power of the Spirit. Don’t drop your guard! The beast is hungry and he is stalking his prey.

Father, remind us often that, on our own, we are no match for Satan. Give us strength to stand firm and resist him. Please keep us alert and self-controlled. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

• At slightly less than 2 billion, Christianity makes up about a third of the world population and approximately the same as the two next largest religions combined; Islam and Hinduism. Christianity is also the only religion represented in all 238 surveyed countries.

• The largest religion (Christianity) is aprox. 68% larger than the second largest religion (Islam) and 246% larger than the third largest religion (Hinduism).

• The nine smallest religions combined have fewer adherents than the third largest (Hinduism).

• And the eight smallest religions combined have fewer adherents than the fourth largest (Buddhism).

• The combined adherents of the three primary Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, makes up approximately 52.8% (3,202,240,666 persons) of the total population – more than half. Some times also Sikhism and the Bahá’í faith are counted as Abrahamic religions, in which case that number will be slightly higher.

• Non-religious people and people belonging to religions not part of the 12 world religions makes up slightly less than 27%. A smaller number than the largest religion, Christianity, but larger than the second largest religion, Islam.

• Christianity is the fastest growing religion both in the number of new adherents due to natural growth (births minus deaths) as well as in number of new converts (converts in minus converts out).

• The total growth of Christianity (25,210,195) adds the equivalent of more than the population of Australia (21,555,500) or the U.S. State of Texas (23,904,380) of new Christians to Christianity. Every year.

• The number of new converts to Christianity is more than twice the combined number of new converts to all the other tabulated religions, even if we take out those with negative numbers (2,501,396 vers. 1,090,541).

• The new converts to Christianity (2,501,396) adds the equivalent of more than the population of Latvia (2,268,000) or almost the U.S. State of Nevada (2,565,382) of new Christians to Christianity. Every year.

• The “Δ adherents” is the sum of new adherents from the year 2000 to the year 2050.

• The “Δ growth” is the size of the religion in 2050 compared to the year 2000.

• The “Δ wrld” is the growth from 2000 to 2050 in the size of the religion of the world population.

• In the period 2000-2050, in terms of absolute numbers, Christianity is predicted to be the fastest growing religion (1,052 billion more adherents). Closely followed by Islam (+1.041 billion) – though the difference between the two numbers is so small that any difference easily lies within the statistical uncertainty.

• Since Islam from the base point in 2000 is a smaller overall religion than Christianity (about 60% the size of Christianity) the same (roughly) growth in absolute number of adherents translate into a larger relative growth. Respectively 87.61% versus 52.61% in relation to the initial size of the religion & 5.4% versus 1.3% as a proportion of the religions size compared to the global human population.

• In terms of growth in percentage, Zoroastrianism (+173.78%) & Bahá’í (+153.30%) are the two fastest growing religions. But since their base size is comparatively small (respectively 0.12% & 0.36% the size of Christianity), this strong growth has only a small influence on the relative size of tabulated religions (both gain 0.1% “market share”).

Analyses, Growth pattern:

Conversion

Only religions with a positive number of converts (i.e. more converts into, than converts out from) are included.

Religion Conversions Rate to total growth Rate to size Number of adherents to each new convert
Christianity 2,501,396 9.92% 0.13% 799
Islam 865,558 3.83% 0.07% 1,373
Buddhism 156,609 4.25% 0.04% 2,298
Sikhism 28,961 7.38% 0.12% 803

Zoroastrianism 13,080 22.37% 0.51% 194
Table L ––– source: World Christian Encyclopaedia

• Rate to total growth is the size of the total growth of the religion which comes from converts. A high number can signify many converts or a low natural growth, conversely a low rate can signify few converts or high natural growth.

• Rate to size is the relative size of the number of converts to the size of the whole religion.

• Number of adherents to each new convert is the number of adherents of a religion to the number of new converts. This and the previous column (“Rate to size”) illustrate the same information.

• Christianity is by far the fastest growing religion in regard to new converts. The number of new converts to Christianity is more than twice the combined number of new converts to all the other tabulated religions, even if we take out those with negative numbers (2,501,396 vers. 1,090,541).

• Zoroastrianism followed by Bahá’í are the two religions which springs the largest part of their total growth from new converts (22.37%, 18.35%).

• Zoroastrianism and Bahá’í have the highest number of converts in relation to the size of the religions (0.51%, 0.37%). Buddhism and Islam manage the least new converts in relation to this size (0.04%, 0.07%).

Natural growth

Religion Natural growth total Rate to total growth Rate to size
Christianity 22,708,799 90.08% 1.14%

Taoism 25,397 100% 0.96%
Zoroastrianism 45,391 77.63% 1.78%
Table M ––– source: Christian Encyclopaedia

• Rate to total growth is the part of the total growth which comes from natural growth. I.e. subtracted the part coming from growth due to new converts.

• Rate to size is the natural growth compared to the size of the religion. Says something of the overall fertility of the people in the religion.

• Christianity is the fastest growing religion in terms of the growing number of new Christians due to a positive population growth (22,708,799 new Christians / year).

• Islam followed by Zoroastrianism are the religions with the highest natural growth in relation to their overall size. i.e. have the highest population growth rate (1.83%, 1.78%).

Demographic transition and declining fertility

Total fertility rate (TFR)(Term 14) is measured as the average number of children women from a particular country will bear if she lives to the end of her childbearing years and bear children according to a given fertility rate at each age. TFR is the best predictor of future population growth. In Western and industrialised countries a TFR of approx. 2.1 – i.e. each women in generally giving birth to 2.1 children (or rather a random sample of 100 women giving birth to 210 children) – is considered the replacement level(Term 16). The birth level where the population over time is stable, neither growing nor shrinking, but exactly replacing itself. In less developed countries with higher mortality rate, the replacement level can be higher, someplaces as high as 3.5. A growing population can be achieved by raising the fertility rate (quantity) or lowering the replacement level (quality). Countries with a sub-replacement fertility – a TFR below the replacement level – can still grow their population over a relative short period due to a population momentum, caused by a previous above replacement fertility resulting in a high number of young people in the child bearing age. But over a sustained period a sub-replacement fertility will always result in a shrinking population.

Over the last 22 years (1989 – 2010) the average fertility rate of the whole word declined from 3.50 to 2.56. A fall of 0.94 children per. women or 27% less children per women over the 22 years. The weighted average fertility rate for Christian nations(Term 12) declined from 3.26 to 2.56. A fall of 0.7 children per. women, or 21% less children per women over the 22 years. The weighted average fertility rate for the Muslim nations(Term 13) declined from 5.17 to 3.00. A fall of 2.17 children per. women or 42% less children per women over the 22 years. The fertility gap of 0.24 children per women, which existed between the world average and the average for Christian countries disappeared. The fertility gap between the Muslim countries and the Christian average declined from 59% in 1989 to 17% in 2010, a narrowing of the gap of 71%. If the trends of the last 22 years continue – which they are likely to do, since population trends tend to be fairly predictable in the near future – the Muslim and world/Christian fertility will converge in around 2015. Revised down from 2022/3 from last projection, made with numbers available until 2008.

Muslim Brotherhood: A Global Terrorist Influence

http://downloads.cbn.com/cbnnewsplayer/cbnplayer.swf?aid=20838
Many analysts believe that the radical organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood will gain great influence with a change of government in Egypt.

A closer examination of the secretive group provides insight as to why its possible climb to power has Western observers so uneasy.

Before Osama bin Laden formed al Qaeda, he belonged to the Muslim Brotherhood. So did his top deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri and the 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

In addition, the terrorist group Hamas identifies itself as the Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestinian branch.

Why are there so many jihadists drawn to the Brotherhood? The group’s official motto may tell the story.

It reads:

* Allah is our objective.
* The prophet is our leader.
* Qur’an is our law.
* Jihad is our way.
* Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.

The Brotherhood was founded in 1928 in Egypt, with the goal of spreading Islamic Sharia law worldwide and uniting all Muslim nations into one Islamic super state. It was eventually banned in Egypt, but for the past several decades has worked behind the scenes to the point where it’s now considered the most influential Islamist organization in the world — with chapters in more than 100 countries.

“It has been repressed in Egypt and in many other countries where the Brotherhood has affiliates and entities,” said retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Myers, who has called the Brotherhood an “insurgency movement.”

“The state security services work against them because they are a subversive insurgent organization and they conduct terrorist acts and have been involved in violence as well,” Myers told CBN News. “Seeking to overthrow and change the governments where they’re represented.”

Although the group has been severely repressed in Egypt for years, it represents that country’s most organized and powerful opposition force.

Former FBI Special Agent John Guandolo told CBN News the United States must become more aware of the Brotherhood’s growing influence.

“Here in the United States, virtually every prominent Islamic organization is controlled and led by the Muslim Brotherhood,” said Gunadolo. “Why this is key, is because they see that they are going to destroy our Western civilization from within.”

The Brotherhood’s immediate goal, though, is an Islamic state in Egypt — and an end to that country’s peace treaty with Israel.

Sleeper Cells in the USA

Sleeper Cells in the USA

Dave Gaubatz

There is every reason to suspect that we will endure suicide missions by Islamist sleeper cells. They are already in place. They are waiting for the right time. I know this from experience.

I have worked over 15 years as a U.S. Federal Agent, a U.S. State Department Arabic linguist, and the first civilian Federal Agent deployed into Iraq at the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Since returning from Iraq I have been involved in terrorism analysis, specifically the mindset of terrorists. During my extensive research on sleeper cells I have talked with hundreds of people from the Middle East from all walks of life, and have talked with Iraqi Government officials, Iraqi military and Iraqi police officers. In addition I have interviewed numerous counter-terrorism specialists in the U.S. and abroad. In 2006 I trained over 4000 U.S. Law Enforcement officers in Basic Investigative Arabic and counter-terrorism. The conclusions of my research lead to the title of this article.

Before I departed for the Middle East in 2003 I had been assigned to Kirtland AFB, NM. Kirtland has some of the best scientists in the world working on U.S. Government projects. I had been working closely with these scientists who specialized in nuclear energy, directed energy, laser technology, bio-weapons and more. I fully understand the impact if suicide bombers begin progressing from conventional explosives to unconventional methods.

The Middle East

In Jan 2003, I was assigned to Arar Air Base Saudi Arabia. Arar is located near the border of Iraq. My mission was to interact with Saudi military officials in order to determine the support we could expect from the Saudi government, to determine if Iraqis were monitoring the activities of the U.S. forces at Arar, and to infiltrate the encampments of the Bedouin community (Saudis and Iraqis living in the desert of Arar). This involved leaving the relatively safe confines of Arar Air Base and driving to the Bedouin camps.

It was most important the Saudis did not know we were leaving the compound because they had forbidden us to do so. Four U.S. special Agents would use our ATV’s and/or four wheel drive vehicles to conduct these missions. The Saudi Government had active spies collecting information pertaining to our troop strength, our weapons, and any other intelligence they could obtain. The Saudis were providing the intelligence to the Saudi Government, and we were very confident it was also being passed to Iraqi intelligence.

During January 2003 and Feb 2003, Saudi Intelligence officers would boast that the American military was overreacting about Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction. Their bravery changed as we approached the invasion of Iraq in Mar 2003. The high-ranking Saudi officers were scrambling to obtain gas masks and other protective equipment. They knew their equipment was substandard and they wanted U.S.-made protective equipment. We gave them some of ours. The Saudi Intelligence officers were visibly frightened about a potential chemical, biological, or nuclear attack and expressed their fears.

While in Iraq we determined the following:

1. Russian activity in Iraq had been rampant several months prior to the war and up until the day before the invasion.

2. Iranians were infiltrating southern Iraq by the thousands and were preparing to assist insurgents in removing U.S. forces from Iraq.

3. We found numerous pieces of evidence indicating WMD were in Iraq before the war began and some were still in Iraq.

4. I and other agents were informed by Iraqis that a civil war would erupt and violence against U.S. forces would increase due to the Iranian and Russian influence.

All of this information was provided through intelligence channels, but was ignored. Today we are seeing the results of our intelligence being ignored in 2003.

Vulnerability at home

Upon returning from Iraq I left Federal Service to pursue a career educating U.S. law enforcement in the U.S. I wrote a book titled “Arabic for law enforcement and military”. During my lectures to local, county, and state law enforcement officers it was revealed the true first line defenders in the U.S. are not trained nor prepared to combat terrorism in the U.S. (through no fault of their own). The local law enforcement agencies were not receiving adequate funds or assistance from the Federal Government to fight terrorism. The majority advised they were supposed to be the first line defenders, but in actuality they did not even know what Al-Qaeda meant, and/or could not point out Iraq or Iran on a map. They had no Arabic language training.

I began conducting research and talking with experts from various fields and determined three significant facts that I corroborated by further research:

1. The terrorists groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and Al-Qaeda each had different leaders and to some degree operated in different ways, but they each had the same two goals (destroy Israel and destroy America and any country that supported either).

2. Our nuclear research centers were very vulnerable to an attack and the potential for a suicide bomber using a dirty radiological bomb from these facilities was and is a high probability. Note: Vic Walter and Brian Ross of ABC News did an excellent report on the lack of security at these facilities. I received an enormous amount of information from individuals associated with Russian nuclear programs that there is nuclear material being sold on the black market and nuclear material is in the hands of Islamic Extremists.

3. Terrorist sleeper cells are located primarily in Virginia, New York, North Carolina, Michigan, Florida, California, and Canada. The “sleepers” are prepared to conduct terrorist attacks within the U.S., and nuclear material is available to them. “Prepared” in this instance indicates they have the necessary tools to carry out their attacks and are prepared to die.

4. Non profit organizations such as CAIR, ISNA, MANA, MSA, and several other Islamic based groups are in actuality simply fronts for Al Qaeda and Hamas. The leadership within these groups receives funds and training from the Saudi government. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) allows these groups to operate freely throughout the U.S. and at American’s taxpayer’s expense. Essentially the IRS grants the groups immunity and the authority to train, organize, and prepare for attacks against our country. Why? Because CAIR and other such groups have a confidential informant network much better than even our FBI. CAIR uses contractors such as Corey Saylor (Simple Resolve Company) to place interns into our elected official’s offices, and into organizations such as the IRS.

Terrorist operations are active in the U.S. and are being operated/financed by Al Qaeda throughout the U.S.

U.S. citizens need to understand there are people trained and prepared to carry our suicide missions in the U.S. and nothing are off limits. Churches, malls, and even the schools our children attend are not off limits to suicide bombers. It is only a relatively short time before the U.S. will begin seeing suicide terrorist missions.

I will continue to research terrorism related issues in the U.S. and Canada and will bring forward the results. Nuclear reactors are located on a large number of major university campuses in the U.S. There locations are not classified and are described on the internet.

Children are the ones who suffer in wartime and I want to prevent any child from ever having to experience a terrorist attack.

In Feb, 2007, I wrote the above article for ‘American Thinker’. I have updated the information for readers.

FamilySecurityMatters.org Contributing Editor Dave Gaubatz spent 20 years as an active duty USAF (Special Agent/OSI), 3.5 years as a civilian 1811 Federal Agent, trained by the U.S. State Department in Arabic, and was the first U.S. Federal Agent to enter Iraq in 2003. From Facebook Really Good Questions for Muslims Who Have Memorized Quran

Taki Saidi
How many christians in the world memorize the bible cove to cover ?
  • Katrina Brinkley What’s the point of memorizing something if you don’t understanding it? Muslims memorize the Quran (which is far shorter than the Bible), but don’t understand it and don’t study it, so when they are challenged on what the Quran says, they don’t have a clue.
  • Naim Jalal taki sadi what have you done memorizing your quran in the arabic language without translation lol. you couldn’t even answer a single question out of ten which i raised for you lol. again i am going to paste them for you show me your memorizing power lol
  • Naim Jalal Taki Saidi
I have question for christians how can your minds accept trinity ?
    ******************************
1- taki adi how can your mind accept the prophet of Allah marrying six years old little girl aiysha ?  My mind could not accept this that Allah could command His prophet to do in the age of 53. Can you please convince me ?

2- How can your mind accept that Allah commanded to His prophet to marry HIS DAUGHTER IN LAW ?

3- How can your mind accept that by killing humans you are going to have paradise in reward ?

4-How can you accept that Allah is going to give you virgins for sex and alcohol to drink in heaven and the power of 100 men to have sex?

5- How can you accept that Allah is the best deceiver and liar as per quran?

6- How can your mind accept that Allah sleeps and forget as He was slepping when Bible changed and he forget to protect HIS WORDS?

7- How can your mind accept that disobeying the commandment of Allah still your prophet remained a prophet?  As he disobeyed when Allah commanded him to marry only four wives but in respect to Allah he married 13 wives wow what an obedience still he is prophet.

8- How can your mind accept that black magic could effect a prophet of ALLAH if he is true ?

9- How can your mind accept that one entitled in quran as KALMA TULLAH AND ROOH MINNAH MEANING THE WORD AND SPIRIT OF GOD IS STILL NOT A GOD ?

10- How can your mind accept that Allah changes His decisions according to environment ? IN ONE VERSE OF QURAN HE SAYS THAT MAKE CHRISTIANS AND JEWS AS FRIENDS AND RELATIVES BECAUSE THEY ARE THE PEOPLE OF BOOK BUT THE NEXT MOMENT IT SAYS THAT DON’T TAKE JEWS AND CHRISTIANS AS FRIENDS BECAUSE THEY FRIENDS TO EACH OTHER WHO WILL TAKE THEM AS FRIEND WILL DIE JEW OR CHRISTIAN?

  • Josh Yazel How many muslims in the world understand the bible – or koran for that matter – cover to cover??

Inside the Muslim mind

There are slogans which call for death to blasphemers, death to America. The strong longing to detest, bringing death and destruction upon oneself or others is deeply embedded in these slogans; the desire to kill the “culprit” not through the application of law but mob justice

What we find today is that it is only Islam and its followers which are privileged to be the focus of the entire world. Islam, though a minority religion of the world is struggling hard to excel all other religions being “youngest” of all the other “divine” religions.

Almost all the Muslims—by and large— maintain similar views on life and the material world yet the Muslims of Pakistan are notorious for their “love for Islam”, while the rightful claimant still remains Saudi Arabia.

The “family” of the Prophet and people from Mecca and Medina has always expressed their superiority over all other Muslims. Since Islam was primarily a religion of the Arab desert, at second place in “prestige” come the other Arab Muslims. The non-Arab Muslims fall at the third place. However, the philosophy of Islam underscores universality which when translated into ground realities assumes the form of “forced occupation” or imperialism. The first lesson of Islam states: “No God but Allah”; a complete negation of all the other religions, beliefs and cultures. Hence, Muslims do not consider other religions as legitimate religions but heresy and desire their elimination. ‘True’ Muslims do not understand that calling adherents of other religions as heretics is a great insult to religion itself. Everybody following any religion considers his or her to be the true, while it is only Islam which deems itself not only the “true religion” it also aspires for the total annihilation of all other religions. This diversion distinguishes Islam from all other spiritual belief systems while it assumes the form of a political religion which endeavours to establish its authority and hegemony all over the world.

When a belief system carries political considerations, it also begins to feel pride in being “true”. This leads to delusions causing aggressive tendencies. To advance aggression one needs material resources, whereas Muslims are deficient in education, scientific and technological advancement as well as political stature. This deficit causes them to become intolerant since all the material, economic and political power is in possession of the West. Hence, the Saudi rulers from the royal family employ all their economic resources and petrodollars to invade the world in another way. The strategy begins with spreading the extremist Wahabi doctrine in Muslim states to accomplish“spiritual occupation”; a goal achieved quite successfully. A large number of mosques and religious schools have been set up propagating Wahabi philosophy presented as “true Islam”. Trousers above the ankles and Arab-style burqas are now very popular in our country while most of the jehadi and extremist organizations belong to the Saudi brand of Islam which also enjoys the backing of our security establishment. The Saudis have also made efforts to pitch all Muslims of the world against the West and followers of all other religions. Hence, it is Islam vs. the rest of the world. Saudi Arabia is actively involved through the advancement of particular beliefs, culture and political objectives. In short, Saudi imperialism is spreading in the name of Islam.

The basic ideology of Islam and the Muslim mindset clearly establishes that there is no pluralism in Islam. And this is the reason why mainstream Muslims cannot live alongside people from other religions and cultures. They consider it against their belief system. They strongly feel that all the non-Muslims are heretics and are involved in hatching conspiracies against them. Such material is written in the Quran and in our text books which we teach our children. Therefore, most Muslims do not consider diversity as indicative of the beauty of nature and humanity and that is the primary reason why minorities live a miserable life in the Muslim countries [often regarded as second class citizens]. Efforts are even made in the Muslim countries to eliminate minorities. Harshest of laws and attitudes exist in Saudi Arabia. It is therefore not possible that the civilized world and the Islamified Muslim world can integrate or even co-exist.

The Muslims foster a strong desire that the whole world should treat them in a preferential way as well as respect Islam while they keep calling every non-Muslim a heretic. They should have the allowance to live their lives according to their beliefs and values while they would not become part of any other religion or culture. They would remain a separate entity, demand separate rules for themselves overlooking the fact that the Western society is no more religious or “divine” in character rather it is driven by humane considerations and is founded on values which mankind has found useful after gaining experience of thousands of years based on rationality and science. On the other hand, the Muslims consider male oriented tribal Arab traditions of the desert as ideal not only for themselves but for the entire world.

A majority of the Muslims do not consider man-made disciplines of any real value. The rights and civil liberties which most Muslims demand in non-Muslim countries do not exist even in their own countries. These do not exist either in Islam, which like most religions happens to envisage an authoritarian, centrist and theocratic state. Here there is no concept of individual freedom. If a single demand of the Muslims is conceded to by a Western country, they would put forth another; till such time that the whole society would divide on the basis of Muslim and non-Muslim. The story would not end here; the next demand would be the establishment of an Islamic state.

Today even if we look at our own society, we find violence and authoritarianism as part of our national psyche. As if the Caliphs still rule the world and we are a super power. This attitude can be gauged by going through the slogans written on banners seen all across the country:

Gustakh-e-Rasul ki saza, Sar tan say juda” or “hand us over the blasphemer”.

The expression “Gustakh” itself is an expression of power. It translates into “How dare you”. Then there are slogans which call for death to blasphemers, death to America, Islam zindabad and kufr murdabad. The strong longing to detest, bringing death and destruction upon oneself or others is deeply embedded in these slogans; the desire to kill the “culprit” not through the application of law but mob justice.

How many heads would roll as the Muslim world is fast losing rationality, humanity and a civilized existence.

The Truth About Islam by Vijay Kumar

The Truth About Islam by Vijay Kumar

The Truth About Islam:
In Rebuttal to a Recent Article Published in The Tennessean

by Vijay Kumar (December 2010; pdf here)
To an open minded, rational thinking person engaging in a fact-based assessment comparing the fundamental tenets of Islam with the founding principles of our Constitution, the essential opposition of these two ideologies should become quickly and readily apparent. Examples of this unmistakable opposition abound and are easily discerned:

• It is a fact that Islam, as an ideology delineated in the Quran, opposes separation of church and state; whereas the First Amendment of the Constitution requires it.

• It is a fact that Islam seeks to eradicate freedom of religion, while the First Amendment defends it.

• It is a fact that Islamic doctrine suppresses freedom of speech, whereas our First Amendment guarantees it.

• It is a fact that Islam commands cruel and unusual punishments, whereas our Eighth Amendment forbids them.

• It is also a fact that the Quran urges its followers to “Fight and slay the pagans (infidels or non- Muslims) wherever you find them,” whereas America’s most hallowed founding principles dictate that all people are created equal and have inherent rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

These are just some of the problematic facts relating to Islam that rightly concern many Americans in the post 9/11 world. But from the very first line of his October 24th article in the Tennessean entitled “Anti-Muslim Crusaders Make Millions Spreading Fear” reporter Bob Smietana blatantly ignores these facts and many other essential issues pertinent to the discussion of the spread of Islam and Sharia law in America, choosing instead to engage in a mottled series of baseless ad hominem attacks which portray Americans concerned about the issue as being hate mongering profiteers.

Smietana opens his article with a completely unsubstantiated and fallacious attempt to portray Steven Emerson as a “leading member of a multimillion dollar industry of self proclaimed experts” who “spread hate toward Muslims” for their own profit. Let us begin the logical decimation of Smietana’s spurious allegations by addressing his ludicrous assertion that Emerson is a “self proclaimed expert.”

This particular assertion blatantly ignores the fact that rather than being a “self proclaimed expert” Emerson is in reality considered to be a top expert on Islamic terrorist activity by FBI counterterrorism agents, national security personnel, U.S. congressmen, major news organizations such as CNN and many, many others.

“Steve has been on the cutting edge of [investigating terrorism] for many, many years… he has provided an extremely valuable service,” says Robert Blitzer, retired FBI Counterterrorism Chief. Richard Clarke, former head of NSC Counterterrorism, calls Emerson “The Paul Revere of Terrorism” and says Emerson routinely provided him with counterterrorism information that the FBI and CIA didn’t have. Senator John Kyl said Emerson “is the most authoritative expert on Middle Eastern terrorism in the United States today…whose investigations have uncovered the existence of terrorist groups operating in the United States Kyl adds that “This country owes a great deal of gratitude to him.”

As for Emerson being a profiteer, Smietana points to the $3,390,000 in income Emerson’s “for profit” company — SAE Productions — “collected” in 2008 for researching alleged ties between American Muslims and overseas terrorism. While providing no accounting of how that money was dispersed or where it ended up, Smietana also ignores the fact that Emerson, according to SAE spokesman Ray Locker, takes no profit from SAE. The money in question was used to pay for research, expenses and the salaries and benefits of 18 employees. The organization, according to Locker, is only designated “for profit” for security reasons, so that Emerson can protect the anonymity of his employees. Considering the fate of others who have openly criticized Islam — such as Salman Rushdie, or Theo Van Gogh (the Dutch filmmaker who’s movie about the shameful abuse of Muslim women got him assassinated by a Moroccan Jihadist) — it is understandable that Emerson, while braving the personal risks entailed by his open fight against Islamic Jihad, is concerned with protecting the well being of his employees.

As for Emerson being a hatemonger, Smietana simply makes the slur without citing a single instance of Emerson saying, writing or doing anything that remotely constitutes hate speech or hatred of Muslims.

LOGICAL DISCOURSE AND THE TRUE PURVEYORS OF HATE AND INTOLERANCE
Since Smietana provides absolutely no evidence of hate speech coming from Emerson or any of the other people he accuses of hatemongering, it is apparent that for him the mere criticism of Islam alone constitutes intolerance and hate mongering. Regarding this absurd (though common) and baseless assertion that the only intent of those who point to the dangers inherent in political Islam is to spread hate, light the fires of passion and loose the dogs of war, we must once again do what Smietana never does in his article — which is to address facts and the empirical data, and formulate a reasoned. dispassionate assessment of the pertinent issues.

Let me first state unequivocally that empirical arguments against the ideology of Islam and its diametric opposition to the Constitutional foundation of America (and the notion of human freedom) are all logical variances and oppositions against an ideology, not arguments or attacks against a people. Let it further be said that opposing Islam does not make you a racist, and does not mean that you oppose or hate Muslims or want to oppress them. What it means is that you oppose (on a purely empirical and rational basis) the racism, hatred and oppression that the ideology of Islam itself embodies.

Consider for a moment the sounds of hate, oppression, intolerance, and the irrational — compared to the considered arguments of the rational and the empirical. Hate mongering never begins with, “Consider this….” followed by a presentation of facts, as those who Smietana criticizes have done in regard to addressing the issue of the threat of the Islamic ideology. Instead, hatred, oppression and intolerance state their claims and ideological positions and then reject outright all dissent — reasoned or otherwise. True intolerance is a mindset that – particularly as it presents itself in academia and the media — insists that we must quietly take our seats and behave, or else risk insult, humiliation and punishment. It is a mindset that is not interested in rational debate and discourse.

There may be some who, in fact, do harbor feelings of strong antipathy for all Muslims. That fear is one unfortunate consequence of 9/11, perhaps, or a result of a personal familiarity with Islam’s hostile history. But to lump all critics of Islam together and brand them as hate mongers is tantamount to equating Rosa Parks with O.J. Simpson, because they both were victims of police discrimination.

The basis for any just criticism should always be rational thought, based on empirical data. Concerning the issue of critiquing Islam, a sort of social-scientific method should and must be used. Anything less falls below the standard of anyone who truly honors the words upon which our nation was established. Criticism of Islam’s political aspect is thus not hate-speech, nor is it an indication of a knee-jerk reactionary at work: it is the sensible, logical, and above all, reasonable response of people who have not forgotten that their freedoms are ensured and preserved by adherence to the principles of Reason.

CONCERNS BASED ON FACTS, NOT HATRED
It is unfortunate (and probably futile) to have to remind Smietana of certain undeniable facts, which lead many to have great concern about the spread of Islam across the United States and the world. Consider that when making the absurd assertion that the few million dollars Emerson’s company “collected” makes him a profiteer of hate, Smietana ignores the fact that the government of Saudi Arabia has spent billions to establish schools that propagate Wahhabi Islam — a doctrine that profusely and openly espouses intolerance and hate.

It is a fact that the Wahhabi philosophy is diametrically opposed to the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States in every detail. It is also a fact that Saudi monies have played a large role in funding American colleges and universities. It is a fact that the Saudi regime itself promotes no democratic participation. Does my citing of these facts constitute hatred of Arabs? Of course not. It merely indicates and states the power and influence of a political system beyond and within its own borders – and we would be well served to consider the consequences of ignoring that influence and power and allowing a doctrine that is so blatantly opposed to our Constitutional belief system go unchallenged.

So it is our responsibility not to jump to any conclusions, but to evaluate all the available evidence in order to make a dispassionate, sober evaluation of the situation we find ourselves in today. But in doing so we must not ignore the fact that in the recent histories of Afghanistan, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, the Indian sub-continent, Chechnya, Egypt, the Balkans and Indonesia, the main consequence of Islam’s influence has been havoc, genocide, and revolution. And in past decades and centuries, Islam has not built and spread prosperity, but poverty, isolation and hostility.

As a political arm of government, Islam does not embrace assimilation as modern multi-cultural states do, as America has done. In short, it does not tolerate tolerance. While westernized Muslims enjoy and advocate liberty, they fail to perceive the darker side of their heritage. It must be as difficult for Muslims in Tennessee to admit Islam’s abuses as it is for Roman Catholics to face sex-scandals, but there is no solution until they do. No doubt, a sort of Islamic Reformation is overdue, but, as yet, it has not appeared, primarily because of the real threat of violent retaliation such a declaration would mean for its adherents. The plight of Rushdie, Van Gogh, and millions of others murdered for apposing Islam throughout history gives ample testimony to the real danger of opposing Islam.

WORTHY OF COMMENDATION, NOT CONDEMNATION
Rather than being falsely accused of hatemongering, Steven Emerson and the others whom Bill Smietana attacks should be commended for having the courage to eschew potential assaults (both verbal and physical) and truthfully address the threat posed by Islam. Bill French (aka Bill Warner), a former Tennessee State physics professor, is one such man, an intellectually and personally honest and forthright person whom I’ve known for nearly a decade and whom I consider to be one of the finest Americans I have ever met. The fact that Mr. French personally finances his own research and publications on the study of political Islam out of concern for his country did not prevent Smietana from accusing him of “cashing in” and profiting by spreading hate.

As with the baseless accusations he leveled against Emerson, Smietana gives zero evidence of French engaging in hate speech. As for French “cashing in” on his publications, other than reporting that French sells books, Smietana offers zero evidence that French profits from his research or publications. I happen to know that for the past 10 years Bill French has funded his research and his writing out of his own pocket and has not profited one dime from his endeavors. He does what he does because as a patriotic American he is concerned about the future of his country and the world as we all face the growing threat of Islamic imperialism.

Although Smietana fails to offer any hard numbers that would indicate that French or any other of the people he slanders are profiting from their endeavors, the question should also be raised as to why Smietana seems to want to characterize organizations that do research and then publicize their findings as somehow “evil” if the organizations are categorized as “for profit.” Doesn’t The Tennessean do exactly that? Isn’t Smietana getting paid and making a profit — even though, in this instance, his research and writing (as logical discourse) is as shoddy as it gets?

In leveling his groundless assertions that French, Emerson and others are making millions spreading fear and hate, Smietana manages to point to a grand total of around four million dollars that has been raised by or paid out to the half dozen or so supposed hate mongering profiteers that he unjustly vilifies in his article. But besides citing no instances of hate speech and offering no evidence of realized profit earned by any of the people he accuses, Spietana also fails to address the implications evident in the monumental disparity in funding as related to the people he assails and the financiers of Islam itself. For while Smietana can only cite $4,000,000 being circulated to address the effects of Islam on America and the world, compare that to the billions of dollars Saudi Arabia spends each year to propagate Wahhabi Islam — which creates havoc worldwide.

AN IDEOLOGY OF TOTALITARIAN INTOLERANCE
As I stated, the fact that Islam as an ideology creates havoc, genocide and revolution can be established by considering the violence and death it has fomented in Afghanistan, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, the Indian sub-continent, Chechnya, Egypt, the Balkans and Indonesia (just to name a few). But additionally, I can cite my own personal experience with the effects of the ideology of Islam — for I am a victim of Islamic imperialism. My civilization and culture (Hindu, Indian) has been attacked and ravaged by Islam for a thousand years. As late as in 1970 three million Bangladeshi Hindus and Secular Muslims have been murdered by the fanatical Pakistani Islamic Army during the years of Bangladesh’s liberation. Therefore, as a victim of Islamic imperialism, I have every right to criticize Islam. And in leveling my criticism, I do so with a warning that if America does not take care of this pernicious problem, my past will be your future.

It should be noted once again that my criticism of Islam is based on empiricism, reason, and scientific method and that I am not advancing any counter-religion. It is my desire to compare the Quran to the United States Constitution, not to the Bible. Why? Because, the Quran is, first and foremost, a political document. As a political document it is in complete opposition to the laws of the United States, and particularly our supreme law, the Constitution.

ISLAM IS A REPRESSIVE POLITICAL SYSTEM DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED TO OUR CONSTITUTION
That Islam is a political rather than a religious ideology and one that is diametrically opposed to our Constitution is a factual conclusion that can be clearly drawn from examining the origins and documents of Islam itself and contrasting them with America‘s founding documents and principles.

America was conceived as a free Constitutional republic that is of the people, by the people, and for the people. Islam was conceived as a totalitarian theocracy that is of Islam, by Islam, and for Islam. The Quran is the antithesis of the United States Constitution. They are polar opposites. They are diametrically opposed. I don’t say that as some Hegelian abstraction: I mean that these two documents are ideological opposites of each other in their most basic purposes and goals.

The purpose of our Constitution is to secure and guarantee to all people the greatest possible freedom. The purpose of Islam is for all people to submit to Islam, and only Islam—not just spiritually, but politically and secularly, in every aspect of law and life.

These two purposes could not possibly be in greater opposition.

Our Constitutional republic is built upon the foundation of separation of church and state, with a representative form of government that derives all of its power from the will of the people, framed by a Constitution that is the supreme law of the land.

Islam is built on a foundation of church and state being one, an inseparable autocratic form of government that derives all of its power solely from the will of Allah, framed exclusively by Islamic law—which Islam holds to be divine, supreme, and immutable.

So the danger that Islam poses to America is that Islam, at its core, is ideologically at war with our Constitution. It is a declared war against everything our Constitution stands for. This is a war of polarized ideologies, and they are irreconcilable.

Every conflict we have with Muslims and Islamic nations everywhere around the world arises from that one very simple fact. All other “explanations” are wrong, and so lead to no solutions, only endless turmoil.

The idea that somehow the United States antagonized the current conflicts with Islamic nations and Muslim terrorists is specious. The very existence of our Constitution is what antagonizes Islam. It stands in stark opposition to Islam’s worldwide goal of domination over all mankind. We could be doing absolutely nothing anywhere in the world, and still would be an object of Islam’s contempt and aggression for the sole reason that we do not submit ourselves to Islamic law, and we further have the gall to proclaim in our Constitution that people have the right to choose a religion other than Islam — or to choose no religion at all.

One cannot serve two masters. One cannot to be loyal to the United States Constitution and to the Quran at the same time.

Muslims and non-Muslims alike, need to face up to this incontrovertible fact: Islam’s ultimate goal is world domination by Islamic rule, and America stands as the single greatest barrier to the realization of that ultimate goal. That is the exact simple statement of the problem.

For that reason, Islam, at its core, requires the overthrow of the American government, the destruction of our Constitution, and the cancellation of all of our laws as its ultimate goal in America, so that all of those can be replaced with the Quran and Sharia law.

Islam, at its core, also demands the suppression and ultimate eradication of every other church and religion in the world without exception. All paths to spiritual enlightenment and sacred belief known to man that are not Islam—and even materialism, agnosticism, and atheism—are branded by the Quran as inferior, and not worthy of existence.

Islam, at its core, also mandates inequality under Islamic law, using a double standard specifically designed to oppress any “non – believer.” It enforces Sharia law and its inherent discrimination with draconian penalties, including selective taxes, dismemberment (cruel and unusual punishment at its worst) and execution.

Islam, at its core, also commands complete and inescapable submission of the mind and spirit to its scripture as supreme and divine law that overrides and supersedes all the human rights and freedoms that we, as Americans, hold sacred—including, ironically, freedom of religion. The Quran and Sharia law suppress all dissent, and call for the destruction of all opposition to Islamic supremacy. To leave Islam, or even to criticize it, is punishable by death. (Comedy Central thought that was a joke. They’re now finding out that perhaps it’s not so funny after all.)

Furthermore, it must be realized that these goals and purposes of Islam are not “radical Islam;” they are literal Islam. These are the fundamental canonical goals of Islam’s most holy scripture, spelled out quite clearly in the Quran and Hadith, and being put into force right this minute in nations around the world.

ISLAM’S ULTIMATE GOALS
The Islamic theologian Syed Abul A’ala Maududi left no doubt about Islam’s ultimate goals when he said: “Islam wishes to destroy all states and governments anywhere on the face of the earth which are opposed to the ideology and program of Islam regardless of the country or the nation which rules it. The purpose of Islam is to set up a state on the basis of its own ideology and program.”

I realize that reciting these goals of Islam is not popular or “politically correct” in our culture today, exactly because of the flood of propaganda insisting that Islam is merely “another religion” and “a religion of peace.”

But Islam, at its core, is a faith-based political theocracy whose most basic tenets and goals are a nullification of our Constitution, and, as such, it is the single greatest threat that America — and, indeed, the entire free world – has ever faced. It is a consummate totalitarianism against which every other totalitarianism should be measured. Expressly because of its religious component, Islamic imperialism is far more dangerous than Nazism and Communism combined.

Hitler came to power in 1939, and World War II ended in 1945 with the defeat of Nazi Germany. Hitler was in power for about 15 years. The Communist Soviet Union lasted longer, for about 74 years. The Soviet Union and Soviet sponsored Communism died of their own internal contradictions.

Yet today, Islam’s Universal Jihad has gained control of over 50 countries in the world, according to the CIA’s own World Fact Book. That’s more than Nazism and Soviet Communism combined. And Islam is well on its way to demographic control in over a dozen other countries.

Universal Jihad is a war that has been waged by Islam against the rest of the world for 1400 years. It is by no means limited to violent conflict or terrorism, and demographic conquest is the most permanent form of conquest. Once Muslims replace enough of the population of any country, the non-believers will lose their nation, their culture, their heritage, their civilization, their laws, their land, and their fundamental human rights forever.

Instead of assimilating into any society, Islam seeks to establish a state-within-a-state, to insinuate Sharia law into the existing system of law and expand it by degrees until it can consume it.

Islam and our Constitution cannot merge. They cannot mix. The oil-and-water analogy would be the easiest to make, but the more accurate one, in the case of Islam and the Constitution, is that of a parasite and host.

As it has done with other cultures, Islam uses our religious tolerance—which is codified in the “free exercise clause” of our Constitution—first as an entrance point to insinuate itself, then as a protective covering while it feeds on the host and grows and spreads.

There are more than a few examples in history. Zoroastrian Persia, Buddhist Afghanistan, Hindu Pakistan, and Christian Egypt all extended tolerance to Islam. All have been metamorphosed into Islamic nations. Their pre-Islamic past is all but wiped out. No one really knows the many achievements, contributions, and heritage of these once great civilizations.

The Hindu civilization today is half of what it used to be. After a thousand years of living in an undivided India, in 1947 the Muslims there wanted their own country, and so was born Pakistan. Similarly, in Yugoslavia, after a thousand years of co-existence, Slavic Muslims there wanted their own country, and so was born Bosnia.

America and Europe certainly will suffer the same fate of these past civilizations if effective action is not taken.

The same sort of parasitic process has taken hold today in Europe. Britain, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Italy—all are being inundated by Muslim immigration and suffering the inevitable smothering of their traditional values, culture, and political systems by Islamic influence peddling and Sharia law.

Right now, today, our banks have succumbed to Islamic insistence on separate banking terms for Muslims. Sharia forbids Muslims from paying interest, so Muslims do not get mortgages with interest. They get a loan that has a “fee” instead. Of course liberals, who are Islam’s water-carriers, defend this blatant discrimination that is based solely on religion, while speaking out the other side of their mouths about “equality for all.”

In 2008, the United Kingdom officially sanctioned Sharia courts to rule on Muslim civil matters. In much the same way that Muslims use the “free exercise” clause of our Constitution as a bludgeon against us to extort special concessions and privileges, Muslims in England found in the British Arbitration Act an entrance point to the host while it slowly and methodically grows. It will consume the host unless and until the British people remove it from their system.

And it is coming to the United States.

THE ORIGINS AND TEACHINGS OF ISLAM
One must only look at the foundational history of Islam to factually substantiate and prove all that I’ve stated previously.

The most sacred site in the Islamic world is the Kaaba in Mecca. It was not, however, built as an Islamic mosque. It was an ancient temple that had been shared by polytheists, Christians, Jews, and Hindus, honoring 360 different deities. In 630 A.D. the Kaaba was captured by Islam in its military invasion and conquest of Mecca. On the day of its capture, Muhammad delivered an address at the Kaaba in military dress and helmet, according to Ayatullah Ja’far Subhani in his book,The Message:

“Bear in mind that every claim of privilege, whether that of blood or property is abolished…I reject all claims relating to life and property and all imaginary honors of the past, and declare them to be baseless …A Muslim is the brother of another Muslim and all the Muslims are brothers of one another and constitute one hand as against the non-Muslims.” —Muhammad

Muhammad’s address at the Kaaba overthrew the Meccan government and declared all of Islam, anywhere in the world, to be a political and military state against all non-Muslims, regardless of the non-Muslims’ political, geographical, or national origins.

“If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him.” —Quran 3:85

THE FALLACY OF THE “MODERATE MUSLIM”
The politically correct apologists for Islam claim that it is a “religion of peace” with the numerous acts of terror and murder perpetrated by Islamists being dismissed as the misguided acts of a minority. One must consider however that the majority of Germans during World War II were not active members of the Nazi party, were not waging war, and were not involved in the Holocaust. The leaders, though, were active members of the Nazi party, were waging war, and were involved in the Holocaust.

The majority of Russians and eastern Europeans under the rule of the U.S.S.R. were not trying to spread Communism throughout the world, and were not threatening and waging war and revolution. The leaders, though, were doing everything they could to spread Communism throughout the world, and were threatening and waging war and revolution.

Throughout history, since 610 A.D., the leaders of Islam have been waging Universal Jihad around the world for the purpose of Islamic totalitarian domination of the world. It has never mattered what percentage of the Muslim population was “peaceful” or “moderate.” Peace and moderation are not relevant to the totalitarian mandates of Islam’s political documents, and Islam’s leaders always follow the totalitarian mandates of Universal Jihad contained in them.

Furthermore, while it is apparent that there are post-Nazi democracies in Germany and post-Communist democracies in some places where the Soviet Union once ruled, there are no post-Islamic democracies anywhere. Literal Islam, as contained in its political documents, is the consummate totalitarianism. Neither Nazism or Communism had a metaphysical (religious, spiritual) factor, as does Islam.

Islam uses its metaphysics as a wedge to drive in its totalitarian political doctrines. Once Islam has established itself sufficiently in any nation, it seeks to overthrow any existing regime or Constitution or law, and replace it with Islamic theocracy. Even the most “moderate” Muslim is bound to obey Islamic law, and so is bound to fight if ordered to fight:

“When you are called (by the Muslim ruler) for fighting, go forth immediately.” —Hadith Sahih Bukhari 4:52:79: Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas

All Islamic mosques have leaders who can call Muslims for fighting, and as such are satellite headquarters for spreading literal Islam’s political doctrine of world domination and totalitarianism—no matter how many “moderate Muslims” they serve.

MOSQUES AND THE POLITICAL DOCUMENTS OF ISLAM
The Quran is the supreme political document of Islam – its political manifesto and political constitution. It is the only constitution of the nation-state Saudi Arabia, which is the home of Mecca and the Kaaba, where all mosques point, and is the birthplace of Islam.

The Quran is a totalitarian constitution. It demands submission by anyone within its jurisdiction. The Quran governs all mosques everywhere in the world. As a political document, the Quran asserts that everyone in the world is within its jurisdiction. So far, Islam has not been able to enforce that totalitarian claim on the entire world, but has managed to do so through threat, infiltration, violence, terrorism, and coercion on roughly 20% of the world. It is engaged in a 1400-year-long Universal Jihad to dominate the rest of the world. Mosques are its outpost headquarters.

Central to the Quran’s political mandates is prohibition of religious freedom and religious tolerance, along with denouncements of religions such as Christianity and Judaism.

“O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them.” —Quran 5:51
“Fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)” — Quran 9:5

Mosque leaders must ultimately be loyal to and supportive of these political and militaristic mandates. Mosque leaders and Imams are also the administrators of Sharia law. Sharia law does not allow trial by jury. Sharia law also mandates a double standard of laws for Muslims (believers) and infidels (non-believers). Sharia law mandates a discriminatory tax, called jizya, on non-Islamic religions and nations. Sharia law also mandates discrimination toward women, and forbids any criticism of Islam or its founder, stifling freedom of speech.

Sharia law also mandates that all men are slaves with no right to freedom of religion:

“Allah’s right on His slaves is that they should worship Him (Alone) and should not worship any besides Him.” — Muhammad Sahih Bukhari 4:52:108, Narrated Mu’adh

In short, Sharia law stands in direct opposition to the American Constitution and Bill of Rights. The implementation of Sharia law demands the overthrow of the American Constitution and our form of government and system of laws. Mosque leaders, in every nation in the world, are loyal to the Quran, the Hadith, the Sira, and consider them divine law, and therefore supreme over all.

CONCLUSION AND MANDATE
In summation, all the foregoing facts dictate with precise clarity the reality of the situation: fundamental, literal Islam presents itself as an ideology that is diametrically opposed to our Constitution and thus our country. The mandate this reality dictates should be clear to all as well — it is and should be the duty of every American to vigorously oppose the growth of an ideology that inherently contradicts our founding principles and documents and calls for the destruction of the freedoms and way of life those principles have established for Americans and for much of the free world.

Here are 11 very powerful verses from the Bible that will show her that God will fully forgive all of her sins – no matter how bad she thinks any of them may be – if she will only believe it and accept it with a little faith.

1.  This first verse will tell her that she can now boldly approach the throne of God for His mercy and grace – and that will include being able to approach Him to get full and complete forgiveness for any of her sins!

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

2.  This next verse will show her that God does not want her carrying around any excess baggage that will weigh her down. He wants all of her burdens to be light. These feelings of guilt are like heavy chains and anchors around her soul.

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28)

3.  This next verse will tell her to literally cast all of her burdens onto Jesus – which would include handling all of the guilt associated with any of her past sins.

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22)

4.  This next verse tells her that she now has an advocate in Jesus for any of her sins before God the Father.

“My little children, these things I write to you, that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” (1 John 2:1)

5.  This next verse is a major, fundamental, power verse! This verse will tell her that if she will just confess her sins before God the Father, that He will then fully forgive her and cleanse her from all of the unrighteousness of her past sins.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

She needs to really grab a hold of the revelation that is in this verse. Tell her the Bible is truly the inspired and infallible Word of our Holy God and that she can literally bank her entire life on it!

6. This next verse will tell her that if she has truly repented from these past sins, then these sins have now been fully blotted out before God and that He no longer remembers any of these past sins!

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)

7.  This next verse will reaffirm the above verse stating that God will now blot out all her transgressions and will no longer remember any of her sins! And if God is no longer wanting to remember any of her past sins, then she needs to do likewise.

“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins. Put Me in remembrance; let us contend together; state your case, that you may be acquitted.” (Isaiah 43:25-26)

This verse also tells her that if she will simply approach God the Father in prayer, state her case before Him, and repent of each of her sins – then God will fully acquit her, fully forgive her, and her sins will no longer be remembered in His eyes!

8.  This next one is another major power verse. This verse will tell us that there is now “no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”

What this verse means is that if you have truly confessed your sins before God the Father, and have truly repented of each one of these sins, then God has fully forgiven you. And if God has now fully forgiven you, then you no longer have any more condemnation before God. You are now fully forgiven and you are now free to let all of your past sins go – including all of the guilt associated with those past sins. This specific verse should be committed to memory due to the extreme importance of it.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus …” (Romans 8:1)

9.  This next verse will tell us that all of our sins will become as “white as snow.” In other words, our slates nave now been made completely clean. Our sheets are as white as snow. All of the stain from those past sins have now been completely washed away by the blood of Jesus. Here is the verse:

“Come now and let us reason together,” says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.”  (Isaiah 1:18)

10.  Here is another good verse that will tell her that all of the old things of her past, which will include all of her past sins, have now fully passed away before the eyes of God because she has now become a new creation in Christ.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

11.  Here is another very powerful verse showing her that we now have full forgiveness of all of our sins through the blood that Jesus has already shed for all of us on the cross.

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)

New Categories Added to Blog

To better classify postings, I have added to sub-categories under the “Understanding Islam” category.

Islamorealism – which I am defining is exposing the truth rather than the whitewashed / watered down Islam presents to the West.  This includes the false translation of the qu’ran and / or the hadiths of Islam.  It includes exposing the lies / Taqyiaa of Islamic groups such as the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood, terrorist Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR), terrorist Hamas, etc.

Christianphobia – exposing the always failed attempts to discredit the Holy Word of God, the Holy Bible and / or of the Son of God Jesus.  (And the always failed attempts, ad nauseum to show that the false prophet of Islam, Mohammad, is in the Holy Bible.)

I also changed “Introduction” category, which was a default category, to “Pending Classification”.  These are scoop.it posts or other posts that I’ve not yet put into the proper category.

Obama is no friend of Israel

USA declares a united Jerusalem is the capital of Israel

Obama has erred. This is the official declaration by this citizen that the United States of America suspends President Obama’s powers to invoke section 7(a) of the Act, and that United States of America declares all of Jerusalem is now and forever the capital of the Medinat Yisra’el (Israel).

Obama Signs Document That Tells Israel Jerusalem Is Not Your Capital

MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE

SUBJECT: Suspension of Limitations Under the Jerusalem Embassy Act

Obama signed this on June 3, 2011 – Pursuant to the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, including section 7(a) of the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 (Public Law 104-45) (the “Act”), I hereby determine that it is necessary, in order to protect the national security interests of the United States, to suspend for a period of 6 months the limitations set forth in sections 3(b) and 7(b) of the Act.

Obama’s stance was proof that neither the U.S. nor the world recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, Rudeineh told the agency.

You are hereby authorized and directed to transmit this determination to the Congress, accompanied by a report in accordance with section 7(a) of the Act, and to publish the determination in the Federal Register.

This suspension shall take effect after transmission of this determination and report to the Congress.

The Jerusalem Embassy Act Explained

Congress in 1995 passed a law recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and stating that “the United States Embassy in Israel should be established in Jerusalem no later than May 31, 1999.” An inbuilt waiver authority allowed the president to postpone the move, in the interests of “national security,” for consecutive six-monthly periods. Reflecting the strong level of support in the U.S. for Israel and for Israel’s claim to Jerusalem, the Jerusalem Embassy Act passed 374-37 in the House and 93-5 in the Senate.

President Clinton was not enthusiastic about the legislation, which he warned “could hinder the peace process.” He allowed it to become law, but without his signature.

Should the Jerusalem embassy not be opened by May 31, 1999, the law stated, the State Department would be barred from spending 50 percent of the funds allocated to buy and maintain official properties abroad during that fiscal year. The due date came and went, and then on June 17 Clinton issued the first “Suspension of Limitations Under the Jerusalem Embassy Act” notice.

President Bush continued the policy every six months, to the continuing frustration of pro-Israel lawmakers who argued that the intent of Congress was for the waiver would only be justified in the case of a genuine security threat. A striking difference between Obama’s waiver notifications and those of President Bush is that in Bush’s case, he inserted into the legal jargon a sentence stating, “My Administration remains committed to beginning the process of moving our embassy to Jerusalem.” The phrase appeared in all 16 Bush waiver notifications.

Obama’s stance was proof that neither the U.S. nor the world recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, Rudeineh told the agency.

“The world has made it clear that East Jerusalem has been occupied since 1967 and that it is the capital of the State of Palestine in the framework of the two-state solution.”

Israel insists that Jerusalem is its “eternal, indivisible” capital, a claim it says dates back some 3,000 years, to the reign of the biblical King David from the city. Historians note that while Jerusalem was fallen under the control of many empires and powers, no nation other than the Jews ever declared it its capital.

The Palestinians want Jerusalem as the capital of a future independent state.

“Jerusalem is the crux of the question of Palestine and the key to war and peace in the region,” the Palestine Liberation Organization’s mission to the United Nations declares on its Web site.”

Satan Wants Us to Break the Law of Chastity

“Satan’s plan is to deceive as many of us as he can to prevent us from returning to live with our Heavenly Father. One of the most damaging things he can do is entice us to break the law of  chastity. He is cunning and powerful. He would like us to believe it is no sin to break this law. Many people have been deceived. We must guard ourselves against evil influences.

Satan attacks the standards of modesty. He wants us to believe that because the human body is beautiful, it should be seen and appreciated. Our Heavenly Father wants us to keep our bodies covered so that we do not put improper thoughts into the minds of others.

Satan not only encourages us to dress immodestly, but he also encourages us to think immoral or improper thoughts. He does this with pictures, movies, stories, jokes, music, and dances that suggest immoral acts. The law of chastity requires that our thoughts as well as our actions be pure. The prophet Alma taught that when we are judged by God, “our thoughts will also condemn us; and in this awful state we shall not dare to look up to our God; and we would fain be glad if we could command the rocks and the mountains to fall  upon us to hide us from his presence.”

Jesus taught, “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: “But I say unto you, That woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”

Satan sometimes tempts us through our emotions. He knows when we are lonely, confused, or depressed. He chooses this time of weakness to tempt us to break the law of chastity. Our Heavenly Father can give us the strength to pass through these trials unharmed.

The Scriptures tell about a righteous young man named Joseph who was greatly trusted by his master, Potiphar. Potiphar had given Joseph command over everything he had. Potiphar’s wife lusted after Joseph and tempted him to commit adultery with her. But Joseph resisted her and fled from her.

Our Heavenly Father has promised, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the  temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13

Moroni 10:4-5

“4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Get Thee Behind Me, Satan

Get Thee Behind Me, Satan

5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.”
