American Christians raise voices against Boko Haram

Qur’an (47:4) So when you meet those who disbelieve, strike necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either favor afterwards or ransom until the war lays down its burdens. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them, but to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah – never will He waste their deeds.

(CANAN) Nigerian-American Christians will not sit-by idly as our brethren are being slaughtered in Nigeria by extreme and fundamental terrorists. To this end we are addressing  a press conference.

WHERE: National Press Club (Murrow Room)
WHEN: [Tuesday] Oct 23, at 10 a.m.
CANAN leaders, some of whom will address the conference include:
Dr. James Fadele, a retired Senior Design Engineer at Ford, now senior pastor and leader of one of the largest Christian denominations in the U.S., Redeemed Christian Church of God. He is the Chairman of the association.
Ms. Oby Ezekwesili, immediate VP of the World Bank-Africa Region, a trustee of the association.
Laolu Akande, the longest serving Nigerian foreign correspondent in the United States and (African) at the UN, who is the association’s Executive Director.
Emmanuel Ogebe, a religious freedom advocate, and CANAN’s governmental affairs representative.

The challenge that the Boko Haram menace has thrown is that of the good fight of faith. Boko Haram is a threat not only to Nigerians, but to U.S. interests. This much the U.S. Congress have said.
CANAN will take up that challenge and use peaceful and non-violent means to fight back. Christians and innocent Nigerians of all hues have become victims of the senseless killings by the terrorist group. But it is also a challenge to the Nigerian government, its Police Force, and other security agencies in the nation.
We also call upon the US government and all people of goodwill around the world to pay due attention to what is happening in Nigeria, in order to defend our common humanity.
We call on the international community not to remain quiet.
We call on the U.S. government to review its present policy which falls short of correctly designating the Boko Haram as a terrorist group that it is!

As for CANAN, formed recently in New York, we shall not keep quiet, and we ask for the support of the American people.
CANAN will avail itself of its international contacts here in the U.S. and elsewhere to equip Nigerian Christians against lawlessness and the disturbingly recurrent threat to their fundamental rights.

Raymond Ibrahim: The Rape and Murder of Pakistan’s Christian Children

See on Scoop.itTruth Revealed

——

Rape and murder is the predictable behavior pattern of “religious” people who worship at the altar of a “prophet” who was a child rapist and warlord.

Bukhari (v.7 b.62 n.64) Narrated ‘Aisha: That the Prophet married her when she was 6 years old and he consummated his marriage when she was 9 years old, and then she remained with him for 9 years.

——

(IPT) The West sighed in relief when Rimsha Masih, the 14-year-old Christian girl arrested in Pakistan on August 16 for allegedly burning pages of the Quran, was finally released. Yet the West remains clueless concerning the graphic abuses—including rape and murder—Christian children in Pakistan routinely suffer, simply for being Christian. Consider two stories alone, both of which occurred at the same time Rimsha’s blasphemy ordeal was making headlines around the world.
On August 14, another Christian girl, 12-year-old Muqadas Kainat (which means “Holy Universe”) was ambushed in a field near her home in Sahawil by five Muslim men who “gang raped and murdered” her. At the time, her father was at a hospital visiting her sick mother. He and other family members began a frantic search, until a tip led them to the field where his daughter’s body lay. The postmortem revealed that she had been “gang raped and later strangled to death by five men.” Police, as usual, did not arrest anyone. As a Salem News report puts it, “Complicating matters is the fact that several Christian girls in this remote area have been raped and forced to both marry into the Muslim community and abandon their own religion, human rights groups report…. there is a history in this part of Pakistan according to the Christian community, of local authorities failing to investigate cases of rape or other violence against Christians, often for fear of influential Muslims or militants.”
Similarly, on August 20, an 11-year-old Christian boy, Samuel Yaqoob, went to the markets of Faisalabad to buy food for his family, never to return. According to Wilson Chowdhry, Chairman of the British Pakistani Christian Association, “After extensive searching his body was found near a drain in the Christian colony, bearing marks of horrific torture, with the murder weapon nearby. His nose, lips and belly had been sliced off, and his family could hardly recognize him because the body was so badly burnt.
Some 23 wounds by a sharp weapon have been identified in the autopsy. When sending his body for an autopsy, police raised the possibility of sodomy. Parts of Pakistani culture have a strong homosexual pederast culture, and Christian and other minority boys are especially susceptible to rape and abuse because of the powerlessness of their community and their despised status. In one case fairly recently, a Christian boy was kidnapped, raped, tortured and killed by a police officer, his body similarly being dumped in a drain.
These were just some of the stories concerning the sexual abuse and murder of Pakistan’s Christian children that occurred last August—even as the world stood in awe at the Rimsha Masih blasphemy case. Here are 20 more examples, chosen at random from the many former documented cases:

Nisha, a 9-year-old Christian girl was abducted by Muslims, gang-raped, murdered by repeated blows to her head, and then dumped into a canal (May, 2009).

Gulfam, another 9-year-old Christian girl, was raped by a Muslim man. Though not killed, she was left “in shock and in the throes of a physical and psychological trauma.” During her ordeal, her rapist told her “not to worry because he had done the same service to other young Christian girls” (December, 2010).

Lubna, a 12-year-old Christian girl was kidnapped, gang-raped, and murdered by a group of Muslims (October, 2010).

Kidnapped last Christmas Eve, a 12-year-old Christian girl known as “Anna” was gang raped for eight months, forcibly converted and then “married” to her Muslim attacker. After she escaped, instead of seeing justice done, “the Christian family is in hiding from the rapists and the police” (October, 2011).

After gang-raping a 13-year-old Christian girl, a band of Muslims came to her house when all male members were away working and “mercilessly” beat her pregnant aunt causing her to lose female twins to miscarriage: “They murdered our children, they raped our daughter. We have nothing left with us,” lamented an older family member. The police went on to accuse the 13-year-old raped girl of “committing adultery with three men” (June, 2012).

A Muslim man murdered a teenage Christian girl, Amariah, during an attempted rape: he had “grabbed the girl and, under the threat of a gun, tried to drag her away. The young woman resisted, trying to escape the clutches of her attacker, when the man opened fire and killed her instantly, and later tried to conceal the corpse” (December, 2011).

Muslims abducted a 14-year-old Christian girl, Mehek, at gunpoint in broad daylight from her parents’ house. One of her abductors declared he would “purify her” by making her “Muslim and my mistress” (August, 2011).

Shazia, a 12-year-old Christian girl, was enslaved, raped, and murdered by Chaudhry Naeem, a rich Muslim lawyer, who was acquitted. His wife and son had participated in abusing the child (November, 2010).

Nadia, a Christian girl who was abducted in 2001 when she was 15-years-old and forced to marry a Muslim, only recently returned to her Catholic family (January, 2012).

A powerful Muslim businessman had two Christian sisters kidnapped, forced to convert to Islam, and “married” to him (May, 2011).

In every one of these cases, Pakistani police either failed to act or sided with the rapists and murderers continue reading

“American vs Muslim: Is there a clash of Identity” by Sheikh Yasir Qadhi
Sheikh Yasir Qadhi answers the mind troubling questions of American Muslim Identity: Can you be a Muslim and be an American at the same time? Is there a clash? Is it permissible for a Muslim to have his/her allegiance to a nation-state. What are you first? An American or a Muslim?

Do Muslims have to live in a Islamic State? Can Muslims live in a Kufr State (non-Islamic or non-Muslim State), use the kufr system to defend themselves in the Kufr State? What is the difference between the concept of Ummah andQaumiyat (nation or community)?

Muslims residing in the Non-Muslim nation-state, can they be patriotic to their country? Is America a Christian State? What American Muslims should say if some one asks them that why are they in America?

Can American Muslims be loyal to America? Is there a clash of loyalty between Islam and America? Can American Muslims be proud Muslims and patriotic Americans at the same time? And is this permissible in Islam?

This video is beneficial for everyone- Muslims and not Muslims, Americans and not Americans, American Muslims and General Americans, Islamists, Nationalist and what ever “ists” you call yourself.

This video addresses the very important issue out in Public just like the Ulema (Islamic Religious Scholars) in early 1900′s did in South Asia. Indian Ulema went through these kinds of debates, discussion and discourses about being Muslims in the newly found concept of Nation-state.

Disagreement among the Indian Ulema resulted in mainly two groups. 1st group of Ulema supported the unified Indian, where Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Nadwiand Abul Kalam Azad were at the forefront. 2nd group of Ulema supported the Pakistan Movement, where Maulana Shabbir Ahmed Usmani, Students of Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanwi are famous names from famous Islamic SeminaryDarululoom Deoband, while Mawlana Mawdudi supported Pakistan Movement with caution towards the Muslim League.

Many other groups and movements in Pakistan and Middle East then sprang up around 1950′s that propagated skewed and unorthodox concepts about Shariahand Islamic State, those ideas have affected the thinking of Western Muslims and the Easterners since then.

This is a very good sign the Sheikh Yasir Qadhi came out in public and spoke intellectually on a topic that has been in long discussion for past half century and a very hot topic in online forums.

No, compliance with the true understanding of Islam is completely incompatible with being a good citizen or resident of America or the “western world”. Shariah Law is completely incompatible with being a good citizen or resident of America or the “western world”

    Introduction: Tenets of Shariah Law

Shariah-Islamic Law is a military political doctrine written 1,200 years ago by Islamic authorities. The believers of Shariah-Islamic Law have created a movement like Apartheid in which a minority oppresses a majority.

The goal of authoritative Shariah-Islamic Law is to establish a one-world militant political Islam through Jihad. There are three forms of Jihad: Violent, Cultural, and Financial.

Shariah is not a religion. It was created centuries after the written Koran, Islam’s holy book. Just because a person is Muslim and therefore follows the Islamic faith, it does not necessarily mean he or she supports or chooses to live under Shariah. Many Muslims are brutally oppressed under Shariah-Islamic Law.

Today, Shariah is the law of the land in Iran, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and parts of Nigeria and Indonesia. It is the ultimate authority among the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Hamas, and Hizbullah.

There is NO freedom of religion, equal rights, children’s rights or freedom of speech under Shariah-Islamic Law. Criticism of Islam or leaving the faith of Islam is a crime punishable by death. Forced child marriages, the beating of disobedient wives, public hanging of gays, and persecution of those who do not believe in Islam (Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, others) are tenets of Shariah law.

Tenets of Shariah-Islamic Law (From Reliance of The Traveler: The Classic Manual of Sacred Law, the authoritative Sha’afi school compendium of shari’a jurisprudence.)

    Sharia on family law:

    * Women are eligible for only half of the inheritance of men
    * Virgins may be married against their will by a father or grandfather
    * Arab women may not marry non-Arab men
    * Women may not leave the house without a husband’s permission
    * Muslim men may marry 4 women, including Christians and Jews; Muslim women may marry Muslims
    * Men may beat insubordinate wives

    Sharia on Jihad and religion:

    * Offensive war (military Jihad) against non-Muslims is a religious obligation
    * Apostasy from Islam is punishable by death without trial
    * Non-Muslims ruled by Islam must follow including discriminatory “dhimmi” taxes and laws.
    * Non-Muslims may not receive Muslim charity “zakat”, but may be bribed to convert to Islam but
    * Lying to infidels during Jihad, or to promote Islam, is permissible

    Sharia on human rights:

    * Homosexuals and lesbians must be killed
    * Slavery is permitted and legitimate
    * Muslim men have unlimited sexual rights over slave women, even married slaves
    * Female sexual mutilation (cliterectomy) is obligatory
    * Adultery is punished with death by stoning
    * Women’s testimony in court is worth half that of men (and is permitted only in property cases)
    * Non-Muslims may not testify in Shariah courts.

    CREEPING SHARIAH-ISLAMIC LAW

The Shariah Supremacy movement does not have the goal of hacking off limbs and stoning women in the West. The goal of the Shariah political movement is to have political Islam become an important component of Western life, bringing with it: Shariah courts to maintain patriarchal power in the family structure, censorship of speech and press to eliminate “racism and discrimination” against Islam; control of western economies through investment by dictating “un-Islamic” and “Islamic” industries, and elevating the political importance of Islam far above any other religion.

First, thank you for teaching me about my religion.

Second, I have nothing to say because everything that you have said has no foundation in Islam.
You said: “There are three forms of Jihad: Violent, Cultural, and Financial.” You have no evidence of such uninformed statement & I don’t want to go on like this.

Please check other posts regarding Shariahhttp://umersultan.wordpress.com/tag/sharia/

What you need to do is get yourself educated about Islam from authentic sources rather than the Islamophobes!

@umersultan There is no error in what was posted. All of it is completely accurate and comes directly from accepted authentic Islamic scholars, just not from Islamic Apologists that are obeying their religion through Taqiyya. When Osama bin Laden says Islam will dominate the world and that all is justified by the Qu’ran, Hadith, Sunnah/Sunnat and Islamic Apologists say Islam is a religion of peace, it is bin Laden who is being truthful.

And before you find it necessary to start quoting the Qu’ran about its peaceful Suras, they are subject to abrogation.

It is because Christians, and many Muslims, do not understand this doctrine of abrogation coupled with the nonchronological order of the Quran that they do not understand what is going on in the Islamic world at this time. On the one hand, many Islamic leaders will claim that their religion is a peaceful one, and quote passages from the Quran to prove it. On the other hand, other Islamic leaders will call for terrorism and jihad and base their call on the same Quran. Most of us would view this a simple matter of how the Quran is interpreted, but such is not the case. The peaceful passages within the Quran are found in the early days of Muhammad’s recitations, during a time when he felt that his new religion would be a unifying factor among “People of the Book” (Jews, Christians and Muslims). When his doctrine was ultimately rejected by Jews and Christians he turned on them and “was given” new “revelations” of war and hate to replace the former ones of peace. The surahs, which teach jihad against Jews, Christians and unbelievers, are all found in the later time frame of the Quran. Passages of a later date include 2:190-193,216; 4:74,89,91,95,101-102; 5:33,51; 8:12,39,60,65,67,69; 9:5,29,30,73; 47:4; 59:2-4,5,14 and 61:4. While such passages are scattered throughout the Quran, they are all chronologically of later origin and have, according to the doctrine of abrogation, replaced the former teachings on peace.

No bin Laden is not a scholar at all. Nor did I imply he is. Rather when he states “Islam will dominate the world and that all is justified by the Qu’ran, Hadith, Sunnah/Sunnat ” he is correctly stating the correct understanding of Islam.

I have a correct understanding of Abrogation, but will attempt to find a copy of the book you recommend to determine its accuracy on this subject.

Are you aware of any online links for a free copy? I doubt my local library would have a copy.

    • umersultan
      February 4, 2011 at 12:01 AM
I read this book from the Local Library, you should be able to get it through WorldCat Library Loan.

Christians believes in Christianity Dominating the world too!

I don’t see the problem with the word “Domination.” If people want to believe in something without compulsion then what is the problem.

As far as Abrogation is concerned it is not based on the time line of the verse. It is based on the occasion the verse is revealed. Islam is not based on the last revealed verses! Each verse was revealed on a specific occasion and it has to be interpreted keeping that in mind and thus it is the job of the people who have dedicated their lives to Islam.

Bin Laden can use the verses as he wish, he will be answerable to God just like every other human being will be. Just like Christian Terrorist may bomb the Abortion Clinics and target and kill the Doctors by justifying their act from the Holy Bible, but at the end they will be answerable to God. Jesus & Muhammad, peace be upon them, are free from the insanity of these Nuts.

      • Paul Marcel-Rene
        February 4, 2011 at 6:57 AM
No, Christians do not believe in Christianity dominating the world. In fact, it is is the opposite. Christians believe there will be opposition and false doctrines of the adversary throughout the world until the second coming of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

And, contrary to the Sura that states there is no compulsion in religion, that Mohammad replaced through abrogation, Islam does compel.

We both know the Suras and Hadith that specifically tells to subjugate all who do not accept Islam, kill those who fight this subjugation, that all who apostatize and speak out against Islam are to be killed, etc etc.

But, you are correct, those nuts that bomb abortion clinics as well as those who do the abortions, will face the judgment of God. All who kill will.

There is a big difference though. These abortion terrorists are in complete contradiction of the Christian Bible. The Islamic terrorists are in fact complying with the teachings of the Qu’ran and Mohammad. Both will come before God and Jesus to be judged.

      • umersultan
        February 5, 2011 at 1:49 PM
See this is what you say but these Christian Terrorists who bomb Abortion clinics do it based on Bible and so did the KKK lynched every Black man and woman, burned their churches down in the name of Bible.

Please don’t teach me about the world history, I have studied. No one can turn the face by saying the massacre of Jews and Muslims in Jerusalem was not committed by Crusaders in the name of Christ. What British and other European Colonialist did to the world under the name of “White Man’s Burden” was all in the name of Christ.

The difference is, Muslims in general understand the difference between what Jesus peace be upon him taught and the Christians who have committed crimes against Humanity. No one can deny the Inquisition was not done in the name of Christ, forcible converting Jews and Muslims, or expelling or killing them in Spanish, while the Muslim Spain encouraged the Christians and Jewish scholars to come contribute to Al-Andulus. Ever heard of Maimonide? You might want to read into his life.

Christians started believing in “Christianity dominating the world” since Christianity became the official religion of Rome by Constantine. Christian Missionaries accompanied all the Colonialist to “civilize” the savages of the Africa, Asia, Latin America, “New World” called North America, China, South-East Asia. The difference is we Muslims don’t go about targetting and associating lies to Jesus Christ for crimes committed by the Christians.

Make sure you go through the links I posted. In time, God-Willing you may realize that the world is very different from what you have come to know!
May God guide us all, Ameen.

People have grossly taken the ayahs’ meaning out of content. I suggest you do not just quote verses without reading the surrounding verses. Context clues seem to disappear when people interpret the Quran.

Everyone will be judged according to intentions, whether they be Muslim or Christian or Jew. No one has the right to judge another, or to criticize beliefs without any factual evidence.

Islam is a religion of peace, and will remain so until the end of time. Those who use violence and claim it is “Islamic” are not to be called Muslims.

“Those who use violence and claim it is “Islamic” are not to be called Muslims.”

I would disagree with this statement. How can we say they are Not Muslims? A Muslim is a person who believes in the message revealed to Muhammad, peace be upon him. So unless one crosses the boundary laid down in Islam, one cannot be labelled “Not Muslim!” This is a very serious thing.

They are Muslims, but they are misguided! Thats what we should say!

No, there is nothing what so ever in the Bible that permits Terrorists to bomb Abortion clinics not the wicked KKK to kill anyone or burn a church.

    As for The Crusades:

Muslims love talking about the Crusades… and Christians love apologizing for them. To hear both parties tell the story, one would believe that Muslims were just peacefully minding their own business in lands that were legitimately Muslim when Christian armies decided to wage holy war and “kill millions.”

    The Truth:

Every part of this myth is a lie. By the rules that Muslims claim for themselves, the Crusades were perfectly justified, and the excesses (though beneath Christian standards) pale in comparison with the historical treatment of conquered populations at the hands of Muslims.

    Here are some quick facts…

The first Crusade began in 1095… 460 years after the first Christian city was overrun by Muslim armies, 457 years after Jerusalem was conquered by Muslim armies, 453 years after Egypt was taken by Muslim armies, 443 after Muslims first plundered Italy, 427 years after Muslim armies first laid siege to the Christian capital of Constantinople, 380 years after Spain was conquered by Muslim armies, 363 years after France was first attacked by Muslim armies, 249 years after Rome itself was sacked by a Muslim army, and only after centuries of church burnings, killings, enslavement and forced conversions of Christians.

By the time the Crusades finally began, Muslim armies had conquered two-thirds of the Christian world.

Europe had been harassed by Muslims since the first few years following Muhammad’s death. As early as 652, Muhammad’s followers launched raids on the island of Sicily, waging a full-scale occupation 200 years later that lasted almost a century and was punctuated by massacres, such as that at the town of Castrogiovanni, in which 8,000 Christians were put to death. In 1084, ten years before the first crusade, Muslims staged another devastating Sicilian raid, burning churches in Reggio, enslaving monks and raping an abbey of nuns before carrying them into captivity.

In 1095, Byzantine Emperor, Alexius I Comneus began begging the pope in Rome for help in turning back the Muslim armies which were overrunning what is now Turkey, grabbing property as they went and turning churches into mosques. Several hundred thousand Christians had been killed in Anatolia alone in the decades following 1050 by Seljuk invaders interested in ‘converting’ the survivors to Islam.

Not only were Christians losing their lives in their own lands to the Muslim advance but pilgrims to the Holy Land from other parts of Europe were being harassed, kidnapped, molested, forcibly converted to Islam and occasionally murdered. (Compare this to Islam’s justification for slaughter on the basis of Muslims being denied access to the Meccan pilgrimage in Muhammad’s time).

The Crusaders only invaded lands that were Christian. They did not attack Saudi Arabia (other than a half-hearted expedition by a minor figure) or sack Mecca as the Muslims had done (and continued doing) to Italy and Constantinople. Their primary goal was the recapture of Jerusalem and the security of safe passage for pilgrims. The toppling of the Muslim empire was not on the agenda.

The period of Crusader “occupation” (of its own former land) was stretched over less than two centuries. (The Arab occupation is in its 1,380th year).

Despite popular depiction, the Crusades were not a titanic battle between Christianity and Islam. Although originally dispatched by papal decree, the “occupiers” quickly became part of the political and economic fabric of the Middle East without much regard for religious differences. Their arrival was largely accepted by the local population as simply another change in authority. Muslim radicals even lamented the fact that many of their co-religionists preferred to live under Frankish (Christian) rule than migrate to Muslim lands.

The Islamic world was split into warring factions, many of which allied themselves with the Frankish princes against each other at one time or another. This even included Saladin, the Kurdish warrior who is credited with eventually ousting the “Crusaders.” Contrary to recent propaganda, however, Saladin had little interest in holy war until a rogue Frankish prince began disrupting his trade routes. Both before and after the taking of Jerusalem, his armies spent far more time and resources battling fellow Muslims.

For its part, the Byzantine (Eastern Christian) Empire preferred to have little to do with the Crusaders and went so far as to sign treaties with their rivals.

Another misconception is that the Crusader era was a time of constant war. In fact, very little of this overall period included significant hostilities. In response to Muslim expansion or aggression, there were only about 20 years of actual military campaigning, much of which was spent on organization and travel. (They were from 1098-1099, 1146-1148, 1188-1192, 1201-1204, 1218-1221, 1228-1229, and 1248-1250). By comparison, the Muslim Jihad against the island of Sicily alone lasted 75 grinding years.

Unlike Jihad, the Crusades were never justified on the basis of New Testament teachings. This is why they are an anomaly, the brief interruption of centuries of relentless Jihad against Christianity that began long before the Crusades and continued well after they were over.

The greatest crime of the Crusaders was the sacking of Jerusalem, in which 30,000 people were said to have been massacred. This number is dwarfed by the number of Jihad victims, from India to Constantinople, Africa and Narbonne, but Muslims have never apologized for their crimes and never will.

What is called ‘sin and excess’ by other religions, is what Islam refers to as the will of Allah.

Yes, I am aware of the Inquisition and Maimonide. And, yes there were errors made. Again, these were done in direct opposition to the Bible. There is no support for the excesses of the Inquisition in the Bible.

As for colonialist taking Christian missionaries with them, that makes perfect sense. The great commission is for all Christians to teach the truth to all who do not know it, about the nature of the One True God and His Son Jesus Christ. It is what I am doing this exact moment and what every true Christian should be doing, sharing the news of salvation and eternal life with all who do not know these truths.

We do agree on correcting Zayn regarding that he/she who identifies themself as Muslim are Muslim. And I most definately agree that those practicing jihad/stealth or silent jihad or any violence are misguided, BUT they are not misunderstanding Islam, the Qu’ran or the sayings and behaviors of Mohammad.

If Crusaders were following the Bible or were so justifies then why they sacked Constantinople and put a whore on the pulpit of the Orthodox Church.

You should read: “Two Faiths One Banner” by Ian Almond the Holy War of Catholicism will get into perspective.

So you say that KKK was not following Bible and the Inquisition was not following Bible, but thats interesting because they were citing Biblical verses as well, or other time its interpretation. So does those Evangelical Terrorist do when bombing Abortion clinics.

Any way, you should study more into the verses that “preach violence” in the Holy Quran, when they were revealed & what occasion were they revealed and what Authentic Islamic Scholars say about these verses.

Regarding Extremism and Terrorism read this: “Islamic Awakening between Rejection and Extremism” by Yusuf al-Qaradawi. Online read here: http://www.witness-pioneer.org/vil/Books/Q_RE/index.htm

    @Paul Marcel-Rene:

Learn your facts from a law professor (working at Boston College Law School and at Harvard) who teaches American law AND Islamic law.
    Lay off the Fox news.

I would be willing to teach this professor so that he can correctly teach his students. Just because his positions are great, does not mean he is correct. When I attended college, many professors had serious errors in subjects being taught. When I taught college classes, the correct information was taught.

As for Fox News, I’m much more likely to be watching Al-Jazzeria, than Fox. Of course, I have a correct understanding to filter the propaganda of any “news” from any source. Stealth Jihad fails to deceive some of us.

      @Paul,

You cannot ignore the fact that many Muslims do not feel compelled into these practices you have stated (none of which have foundation in Quran or Sunnah, but rather twisted cultural practices!). Many Muslims who are American do not find contradiction in these two identities. You cannot just ignore reality. I will share with you my own blog where I, a practicing AMERICAN MUSLIM, have found nothing but an amazing balance between my faith and nationality:http://mahamuslimah.wordpress.com/2010/08/29/american-first-muslim-first-no-contradiction/

Paul, you have made many statements that have no basis in Islamic teaching (i.e. genital mutilations (!?), women traveling without permission, requirement of violent jihad, not giving zakaat to non-Muslims (!?), forbidding Arab women to marry non-Arabs (!?), forced marriages, rape of slaves, and so on). These are cultural practices, and have NO foundation in Quranic teaching. Many of these conditions were already present in the historical context of the prophet. I am sure you know that Islam did NOT invent, implement nor encourage slavery! The same goes for polygamy! Islam did not invent, implement nor encourage polygamy! In fact, it made a limit to the polygamous abuse AND is the only religion that says ‘only have one spouse if you cannot be fair” and it goes on to state “no, you can never be fair”. In fact, there is much evidence in Quran that expresses Allah’s disgust with oppression and the enslavement of other human beings–Muslim or non; enslaved or free.

As a convert who has learned Islam from its sources (Quran and Sunnah), I am appalled and disgusted that some so-called “Islamic nations” oppress their people in the ways they do.

Shariah, for regular-ol’ Muslims (not those with agendas), means “the way” and includes “the ways” in which we perform ablution, pray, fast, pay zakaat. It has more to do with lifestyle than some kind of doctrine that governs the land. I do not even find basis in Quran that encourages Muslims to “dominate” the world. We are encouraged to teach others about Islam, but definitely not force anyone! Anything done under compulsion–by force–does not even count as legitimate (this includes forced conversion, forced marriage, etc) In Quran, there is encouragement to live in a society peacefully with others of diverse beliefs. Read Surah al-kafirun (“Say to those who reject faith, I do not worship what you worship. You do not worship what I worship. And I shall not worship what you worship and you shall not worship what I worship. Unto you is your religion, Unto me is my religion”). This surah recognizes religious diversity and a requirement for Muslims to deal in the BEST manner with others despite their beliefs!

      Even you mentioned that:
“Shariah is not a religion. It was created centuries after the written Koran, Islam’s holy book. Just because a person is Muslim and therefore follows the Islamic faith, it does not necessarily mean he or she supports or chooses to live under Shariah. Many Muslims are brutally oppressed under Shariah-Islamic Law.”

Shariah–as a legal system–is an invention to Islam. And I would agree, some Muslims AND non-Muslims are brutally oppressed under so called “Islamic law”. And this is disgusting to me and other Muslims who truly believe in the mercy of God, read Quran, practice Islam. In no way is oppression and hatred toward any individual OK (whether Muslim or non-Muslim)!

It doesn’t even bother me that you say the things you have said. Mainly because I have studied Quran and know there is no foundation nor tolerance for this within the religion. And I am SURE you have not taken time to read Quran from cover to cover. Have you read sunnah (the life of the prophet? How about his teachings? And the ways in which he spoke to and treated his wives? I am sure you have not sat down to talk to a brother or sister and ASK them how THEY feel about these atrocities going on around the world! I have never met a Muslim who has even sympathized with the abuse of these screwed up governments! I am not talking about American Muslims, American converts! I am talking about individuals from the Middle East who recognize the corruption in their government. Corruption of power and religion, Paul.

I honestly, honestly encourage you to read Quran. More so, I encourage you to go to library and find unbiased sources regarding the prophet’s life.

My friend, I have read the Qu’ran. I have spoken with many Muslims from around the world, both converts and “born” Muslim. I have read the life of Mohammad and all that he spoke. I have studied extensively the historical context of the Qu’ran and the culture to which Islam began. Perhaps your intentions are pure, but this does not change the facts. You still have much to learn about Islam before you will truly understand its true nature and the true theology behind it. May this process of discovering the truth be short and painless.

Paul, you haven’t cited a single source of your claims, and I think that sums up how much well informed you are about Islam and Muslims.

You should be bold enough to cite the books and authors from whom you have gained these very wonderful insight of Islam that has no bases in the Quran or the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him.

War on Terror

  • Muhammad Ali Arceno I wonder why al-qaeda did not help the Palestinians in their strugle against evil zionists….not a single Israeeli soldier killed or bombed by al-qaeda. What they had bomb are innocent civilians both muslims and chrstians but no jews….Is it true that al-qaeda is actually made by CIA and Israeli to destroy the image of Islam? what do you think?

  • AlQaeeda was made by CIA and and ISI during the war with russia coz america wanted to take the title of world power , they supported them and it is not a secret thing but now when the Alqaeeda became islamic and was trying to create an islamic nation then they attacked them and get all the oil …. Master OfUniverse the purpose ? what is the purpose of jews killing the palestine people , why the americans are killing the muslims in Afganistan and Pakistan , what is the purpose of indians behind killing the kashmiris
  • I really don’t know what to believe about this, there are so many conspiracy theories, but one thing for sure is that the World is definitely being manipulated and people are hating one another without reason. The Bible says that “we all know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one” (1 John 5:19). This means that Satan and his hoards are the ones pulling the strings and causing all the chaos.
  • Master OfUniverse:   ‎Muhammad Usama – to address your rhetorical questions addressed to me:
    1. Pure nonsense that the CIA and/or ISI made up Al-Qaeeda. Al-Qaeeda was formed as a more fundamental islamic group as off-shoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. Though, yes, they did get some funding in the beginning to help the rebellion against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The founding was stopped when they proved to be nothing more than islamic jihadist terrorists.
    2. There has never been a war anytime in history in which the US attacked any nation for their natural resources including oil.
    3. There is no purpose “jews killing the palestine people” because the statement is both biased and completely prejudicial. The correct question is, why has the nation of Israel been under direct physical and psychological attack since day one of its official modern incarnation by the surrounding muslim majoriity nations, including, but not limited to, the wars and unprovoked attacks such as the “Six-day War”. Why do “palestinian terrorists” attack innocent Israelis daily with bombs, missiles, rocks, and/or any other violent means forcing the IDF to respond in kind and in defense…. which leads to even more innocent non-combatant deaths and injuries on BOTH sides.
    4. Americans are not “killing the muslims in Afganistan and Pakistan”. The combat forces in both nations are fighting the islamic jihadist and taliban terrorists.
But, as in all wars, accidental injury does occur to civil populations that these terrorists hide amongst. Muhammad Usama, thank you for asking these questions so a truthful and accurate answer could be provided.

Status of Christians in Pakistan

Map of Pakistan

Pakistan Christian Congress files petition with UNO for Refugee Status for Pakistani Christians. Nazir Bhatti

Mr. Ban Ki Moon,

Secretary General,

United Nation Office,

New York.

Appeal to award Refugee Status to Pakistani Christian on constitutional genocide and persecution by Muslim in Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

His Excelleny,

I, the undersigned , Nazir S Bhatti, Chief of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC, on behalf of 20 million Christian in Islamic Republic of Pakistan wish to draw your kind attention on enforced migration and displacement of thousands of Christians from Swat valley, Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera and FATA after threats to convert to Islam or die by Islamist elements. These families are staying with their relatives in Punjab and Sindh provinces facing immense miseries and hardships after denial by government of Pakistan to provide any assistance or security. The hundreds of Christians families of victims of blasphemy are living in hiding for safety of life weather accused are acquitted or in jails. Thousands of Christian families keep on shifting residence in different parts of Pakistan on threats by influential Muslims or in fear of implication in fabricated cases by police. The mass migration of poor oppressed Christian is never brought on record by government of Pakistan nor any human right organization have urged for their settlement where they may live peaceful life.

It will be very important to note in 21st century that Christian are treated as untouchable by Muslim majority on basis of religion and cannot dine at any roadside vendor, restaurant and hotel which is worst type of hate on globe towards Christian in Pakistan. If any Christian on journey or away from home is hungry and attempts to eat in any Muslim owned dinner, he is beaten and tortured by Muslims and forced to pay for plates and glass in which he eats or any thing he have touched. The Pakistan Christian Congress PCC presented many memorandums to government from 1985-1998 to legislate against curse of un-touchable to ensure social justice in society but such demands were neglected. The curse of un-touchable have prevented Christians to take part in profitable catering industry because Pakistani Muslim terms Christians as infidel under Islamic decree which prohibit to eat any food prepared by them.

His Excellency,

The churches are being attacked, pastors are being threatened, social activists are charged under blasphemy, teenage girls are gang-raped by Muslims and Christian women are enforcedly converted to marry by Muslims in Pakistan. There are innocent Christians accused of blasphemy behind bars and hundreds facing trials under fabricated false cases; The Churches in Bahawalpur, Islamabad, Chianwali, Sangla Hill, Toba Tek, Sukkur, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and in many villages have been attacked by militant Muslim extremists groups killing hundreds of Christian worshipers but non of killer is arrested and brought to justice from 1998-2009. The government also failed to protect Christian institution of Murree School, Taxila Hospital, Bible Society and Justice and Peace Organization at Karachi, from attacks of extremist Muslim groups who massacred Christian social activists.

The Muslim militants Martyred Bishop John Joseph, a first and only Punjabi bishop of Catholic Church of Pakistan, dioceses of Faisalabad, but establishment forced Christian clergy tools to declare his martyrdom to be a suicide. The Pakistani Christian Congress PCC demanded to constitute an independent Tribunal to investigate killing of Bishop John Joseph but conspiracy was hatched to close his murder case. Many other pastors and evangelists have been gunned down in broad day light but killers are never arrested and brought to justice in Pakistan.

The Christian youth has been denied opportunities of professional and higher education in Pakistan which has created socio-economic disaster among poor families. The government have closed doors of employment for Christian youth in armed and civil services to force them to become laborers and accept low grade jobs of sanitary workers.

There is no Christian General in Armed Forces, no Christian Secretary in Civil services, no Christian Chairman in any of government Corporation, no Christian Inspector General of Police IG, DIG, SSP, SP, DSP and SHO in four provinces, no Christian High Commissioner, Ambassador and Counsel General in any Foreign Mission of Pakistan, no Christian Justice in any High Courts or Supreme Court of Pakistan and no Christian Director or Deputy Director in any Directorate of Pakistani government which is total denial of due share in power and resources of state to millions of Christians.

The census is never conducted fair and transparent and Christian data is manipulated to decrease representation of Christian in democratic institutions. It will be interesting to note that Christians had four seats in legislative assembly of Pakistan when house comprised of 48 legislators in 1947. There were six seats reserved for Christians in national assembly of Pakistan in constitution of 1973 of Islamic Republic of Pakistan which were reduced to four in national general elections of 1985, when house was of 232 members. In national general elections of 2002, the total house consisted of 365 but Christian seats remained four. How amazing it makes mockery of Census Division of Pakistan that population of Muslims keep on increasing but population of Christians decreasing?

His Excellency,

The Islamic laws of blasphemy, Hadood Ordinance, Article 203, law of Evidence and Compensation have been implemented on Christians which have created feelings of security and safety of life by the hands of militant or by government agencies which is clear count of constitutional genocide since 1985.

The Pakistan Peoples Party PPP government have been also failed to award equal basic democratic rights to millions of Christians like previous military regimes. The PPP led government have imposed one Christian tool as Federal Minister for Minorities and declared him head of “Minority Commission”. It is on record that government of Pakistan entered into an internationally recognized pact with Indian government in 1950, known as Liaquat-Nehru Pact to further safeguard the minority’s rights in the neighboring states. The facts to enter in this pact were that problem of religious minorities aggravated a lot during late 1949 and early 1950. At this critical moment of the history of South Asia, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Liaquat Ali Khan issued statement and emphasized on the solution of the problem of minorities in the two countries. He also proposed a meeting with his Indian counter part to determine how to end the persecution. The two Prime Ministers met in Delhi on April 2, 1950 and discussed the matter in detail for six long days. On April 8, the two leaders signed an agreement, which was later given the name; “Liaquat-Nehru Pact”. This pact provided a bill of rights for the minorities of India and Pakistan. According to the agreement, the government of India and Pakistan solemnly agreed that each shall ensure, to the minorities throughout its territories, complete equality of citizenship, irrespective of religion; a full sense of security in respect of life, culture, property and personal honor. It also guaranteed the fundamental human rights to the minorities, such as freedom of movement, speech, occupation and worship. The pact also provided for the minorities to Participate in the public life of the country, to hold political or other office and to serve in their countries civil and armed forces. Liaquat-Nehru Pact provided for the mechanism to deal with the oppressive elements with iron hand. Both the governments decided to set up “Minority Commission” headed by acting Justice of higher court in their country with the aim to observe and report on the implementation of the pact.

Sir,

The government of India constituted “The Minority Commission” headed by Justice of Supreme Court of India, according to the referred pact and legislated according to presentations of the Muslim leaders to their personal laws and election systems but the government of Pakistan failed to constitute such effective “Minority Commission” headed by acting Supreme Court justice for recommendations or the presentations of the Christian leaders in Pakistan. The Indian religious minorities are enjoying due share in power and Indian Muslim have their independent Law Board to protect their personnel law while in Pakistan, the Muslim judges are issuing decrees under Islamic laws on Christian divorce and marriages. The Present PPP government following the foot steps of previous regimes have also nominated one Federal Minister for Minorities to be head of “Minority Commission” instead of any Justice of Supreme Court violating Liaquat-Nehro Pact.

His Excellency,

Islamic Republic of Pakistan being a member of United Nation and one of signatory member state of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights announced in UN Charter have always neglected the respect of fundamental right of the creed or language, according to Articles 9-29 of Islamic republic of Pakistan constitution of 1973. In the elections of 1971, for first time after independence, the Joint Election system was endorsed in the legal framework. During legislation of Joint Electorate system in the 1973 constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, no Christian presence was in the house while Muslim members of parliament created selection instead of election. We wish to submit that Christians never demanded Joint Election system nor were any recommendations of Minority Commission according to Liaquat Nehru Pact, as such commission never existed in Pakistan since 1950. The founder of Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Jinnah declared in his Fourteen Point doctrine, the Separate Election system for minorities in Pakistan, keeping in view his meetings and discussion with the minority leaders during the Pakistan movement. The minorities enjoyed the separate election system from 1947 to 1956 by electing their own representatives for democratic institutions in Pakistan to raise their voice.

In Joint Election system, Christian vote in their respective constituencies to Muslim candidates while Muslim members of parliament select Christians tools of Muslim feudal lords and business tycoons on reserved seats which can not be termed democratic. On other hand the Dual Voting system for the Kashmiri Muslims is in operation where they vote within territory of Pakistan to elect their legislators for the legislative assembly of Azad Kashmir and also vote for national assembly of Pakistan in their respective constituencies. The Christians have demanded Dual Voting rights which have been denied and Joint Electorate has been imposed on them.

His Excellency,

In my letter to UNO offices on August, 2002, I appealed to press upon government of Pakistan not to impose Joint Election system on Christians but to constitute “Minority Commission” headed by Supreme Court Justice to provide an opportunity of presentations to Christian registered political parties, civil society leaders and clergy on election system of their choice. I also invited your kind attention on miseries and hardships of Christians youth, women and seniors in Pakistan who have been treated as second class citizen and deprived of their basic democratic rights.

Again, I wish to bring to your kind notice that present regime of PPP is making false promises with Christians and not sincere to solve their problems to ensure justice. The PPP government announced to reserve seats for Christians in Senate of Pakistan in elections of February 2009, but failed to fulfill promise and again there is no Christian representation in Senate of Pakistan. The Prime Minster declared 5% quota of jobs for Christians in government employment but never issued any official notification in this regard. The incidents of arrests under blasphemy, gang-rape of teen age Christian girls, forcibly conversion of Christian women and their kidnaps, desecration of Churches and victimization by police are at peak now which have forced Christians to not trust government any more when government have no respect for international treaties like Liaquat-Nehro Pact and Universal Human Rights Declaration of UNO being a signatory.

Prayer:

PCC appeal United Nations to appoint special envoy to visit Pakistan to verify persecution, victimization and genocide of Christians by hands of Muslims, Muslim militants and establishment by direct meeting with migrant Christians and victims of oppression, rape and torture instead of meeting with clergy and their umbrella civil society organizations or commissions which are continuously misleading international forums on directives of government. We also appeal your honor to award refugee status to families of victim of rape, blasphemy laws, wrongfully confined by administration, displaced Christians and Christians in general for settlement where they may enjoy peaceful life at liberty.

Thanking you.

Yours sincerely,

Nazir S Bhatti, Chief of Pakistan Christian Congress
