Thoughts and Truth from the Impossible Life

Salvation and Works

Does the LDS church have everything 100% correct? Of course not. Does any denomination or church have everything 100% correct? Of course not.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:26

I believe.

Regarding the idea of works being necessary:

1 John 1:7-10
1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

John is instructing us about the obligation we have due to receiving atonement through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Forgiveness does not remove from us the obligation to keep the commands of God. The law of God is not done away once we are under the blood of Jesus Christ. His death paid for our past sins. Though His death will pay for sins committed after our original forgiveness, we are urged not to break God’s laws. Sinning without serious regard and deep appreciation for Christ’s death brings us into danger of committing the unpardonable sin (Hebrews 10:26, 28-29). A disciplined and robust effort to obey God’s commands witnesses to Him the depth of our appreciation for the grace He gives through Christ.
———
Consider the words of Christ in Luke 9:23-24:

23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
———
If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.”

–The words of Christ in Matthew 19:17.
———
The truth is that we are saved by the grace of Christ which is offered to us through a covenant, a two-way contract: if we accept Christ and do our part, following and obeying him, then Christ does everything else, forgiving us, cleansing us, healing us, and giving us power to return to the presence of the Father – not because we earned it, but because we accepted the terms upon which he offers his infinite grace and mercy. Even in the days of Moses, the Lord proclaimed that God “shows mercy to those that keep his commandments” (Deut. 5:10), a principle that has not changed. The mercy or grace offered through a two-way covenant with Christ is implied in the Third LDS Article of Faith, and in the teaching of the prophet Nephi who wrote in 2 Nephi 25:23:

For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.

The Church’s emphasis on personal responsibility and the need for self-disciplined obedience may seem to de-emphasize the role of Christ’s grace; however, for Latter-day Saints, obedience is but one blade of the scissors. All of LDS theology also reflects the major premise of the Book of Mormon that without grace there is no salvation: “For we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do” (2 Ne. 25:23). The source of this grace is the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ: “Mercy cometh because of the Atonement” (Alma 42:23).

A Guide To Quranic Contradictions

A Guide TQuranic Contradictions

By Abul Kasem

Apr 20, 2008

(A few readers wanted to know why I am repeating some contradictions. The answer is: I am not repeating; Allah is repeating many verses; I am just following what Allah had done in the Qur’an—Abul Kasem)

The author can be contacted at abul88@hotmail.com.

Introduction

This guide is a compilation of contradictory verses in the Qur’an, the holiest book of Islam. Muslims consider the Qur’an as the infallible words of Allah, free of any ambiguities, contradictions, errors and irrationalities. This guide will demonstrate that far from being perfect, free of ambiguities and errors, the Qur’an is replete with hundreds of contradictory statements that will surprise the critical readers of the Qur’an. It is unbelievable that an omnipotent, omniscient, all‑knowing, and all‑powerful Allah will have such a demented intellect to construct so many contradictory passages.

For easy understanding, the Qur’anic verses are provided in summarized, plain English. For the complete translation please refer to the translations of Yusuf Ali, Picthal, and Shakir or the translation of Hilali and Khan.

Many contradictory verses are repeated; it is because of the repetitive nature of the Qur’an. One amazing aspect of the Qur’an is that there may be several contradictions in a single verse.

Please note that this guide does not address Qur’an’s errors, absurdities, and irrationalities on various subjects such as science, mathematics, astronomy, history, embryology, geology, and cosmology. This is a vast topic and a separate guide is necessary to understand Allah’s expertise on these issues.

This guide may not be complete. There might be many other contradictory verses which the author might have missed. The author will appreciate if any reader finds other contradictory verses and brings that to my attention. I shall include them in the list to make this guide as comprehensive as possible.

Contradiction: 3:97, 35:15 say Allah does not need mankind and the jinns; He is free of all want.

2:29
Allah created the earth (first) then He perfected the seven firmaments (heavens); He has the perfect knowledge of all things. Allah ordered Adam and his wife to descend on earth and to preach on people whatever message they received from Allah.

Contradiction: 9:30 says the Jews and the Christians are idolaters, but Allah allows Muslim men to marry their women without converting to Islam. According to ibn Abbas, ‘I do not know of a bigger Shirk than her saying that Jesus is her Lord!’ This means that the Christian women are idolaters.

Conclusion

It appears that Allah is not sure and confident of Himself. He often hesitates, stumbles and errs of what He wants Muslims to emulate and follow. Just like a human being, Allah is prone to inconsistencies, mistakes and blunders. This demonstrates that the Qur’an cannot be the words of Allah, the all‑knowing, perfect, and precise creator of all things in the heavens and on earth. We might wonder how the creator and the sustainer of all things in the Heavens and on earth could construct such a platitude and slovenly written document.

We cannot imagine what might happen to the universe if this demented, imbecile, imbroglio, hesitant, and imprudent Allah is to rule and run it according to His words and laws in the Qur’an.

How could this unsure, uncertain, and self-doubting Allah send the Qur’an to guide the mankind?

Interestingly, Many Islamists consider these contradictions as Allah’s miracles.

PSA few Muslim readers have sent this link to refute any contradictions in the Qur’an. I shall recommend the readers to visit these sites. According to the narrator of this document there is not a single contradictory verse in the Qur’an:

If appealing to the Bible in a general sense isn’t good enough. Let’s consider that Jesus said the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms (all of the Old Testament) were Scripture and that the Scriptures cannot be broken, cannot fail (John 10:35).
Some might say that there are instances of verses that “contain” God’s word, but that it doesn’t mean the Bible is God’s word. The problem is addressed by Jesus.

Luke 24:44-45, “Now He said to them, ‘These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.’ 45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. ”
Notice that Jesus speaks about what is written regarding him in the Old Testament. Then Luke writes that Jesus opened their mind to understand the Scriptures. What Scriptures? The Law (Moses), the Prophets, and the Psalms. This was a common designation for the Old Testament. Therefore, Jesus says that the written form of the Old Testament is Scripture. Jesus goes on to deal with the religious leaders who would violate these Scriptures which he called “the word of God.”

Matt 15:6, “he is not to honor his father or his mother. And thus you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.”
Mark 7:13, “thus invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that.”
John 10:35 “If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken).”
Jesus never said the scriptures contain the word of God. He said they were the word of God. Therefore, we can see that the word of God is the written form of Scripture. In fact, we are told by Paul not to exceed what is written. Note, Paul doesn’t say to not exceed the parts of the scripture that contain God’s word, he says not to exceed what is written!

1 Cor. 4:6, “Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that in us you might learn not to exceed what is written, in order that no one of you might become arrogant in behalf of one against the other.”
It is the written form that is proclaimed as being Scripture, unbreakable, the word of God, and the standard of which we are not to exceed. This can only be true, if the written form is the Word of God.

Revelation 17:17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

Exodus 22 verse 20

Exodus 22:20:

Reads properly as “He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.”

To explain:

Utterly destroyed – The word חרם cherem denotes a thing utterly and finally separated from God and devoted to destruction, without the possibility of redemption.

So, the One True God says that anyone that worships or sacrifices to any false god, shall be under full condemnation and rewarded for this abomination with a casting away from God into the firery pit.  “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” – Matthew 25:41

Monogamy Taught by Holy Bible

Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
(SINGULAR) – 1 Cornthians 7:2

A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach – 1 Timothy 3:2

A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well. – 1 Timothy 3:12

FURTHER CLARIFICATION:

The clearest evidence that monogamy is God’s ideal is from Christ’s teaching on marriage in Matt. 19:3–6. In this passage, He cited the Genesis creation account, in particular Gen. 1:27 and 2:24, saying ‘the two will become one flesh’, not more than two.

Another important biblical teaching is the parallel of husband and wife with Christ and the Church in Eph. 5:22–33, which makes sense only with monogamy—Jesus will not have multiple brides.

The 10th Commandment ‘… You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife [singular] …’ (Exodus 20:17) also presupposes the ideal that there is only one wife. Polygamy is expressly forbidden for church elders (1 Tim. 3:2). And this is not just for elders, because Paul also wrote: ‘each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.’ Paul goes on to explain marital duties in terms that make sense only with one husband to one wife.

The example of godly people is also important. Isaac and Rebekah were monogamous—they are often used as a model in Jewish weddings today. Other examples were Joseph and Asenath, and Moses and Zipporah. And the only survivors of the Flood were four monogamous couples.

A schematic showing the monogamy relationship....

Muslims false claims about Numbers 31:17-18

In no way does the Numbers 31:17-18 allow sex with children. It is a lie in a failed attempt to justify mohammad’s rape of Aisha. It is a sick mind that even thinks to impose this evil on the Word of God. Numbers 31:17-18

(Numbers 31:17-18) – “Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. 18″But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves.”

The Midianites were descended from Abraham and Keturah (Gen. 25:1). They inhabited the land of Moab and were apparently involved in seducing Israel into going after false gods. Because the Israelites fell into idolatry this way, God told Moses to order the deaths of all who had bowed to the false gods in that land.

“While Israel remained at Shittim, the people began to play the harlot with the daughters of Moab. 2For they invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. 3So Israel joined themselves to Baal of Peor, and the Lord was angry against Israel. 4And the Lord said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of the people and execute them in broad daylight before the Lord, so that the fierce anger of the Lord may turn away from Israel.” 5So Moses said to the judges of Israel, “Each of you slay his men who have joined themselves to Baal of Peor,” (Num. 25:1-5).

God later instructs the Israelites to deal harshly with the Midianites: “Be hostile to the Midianites and strike them; 18for they have been hostile to you with their tricks, with which they have deceived you in the affair of Peor, and in the affair of Cozbi, the daughter of the leader of Midian, their sister who was slain on the day of the plague because of Peor,” (Num. 25:17-18). Later, when Moses meets the returning Israeli army he was angry because he saw the Medianite survivors. “The Midianite women, he said, should have died because they were directly culpable in Israel’s sin at Baal of Peor. All the women except the virgins were then sentenced to death along with all the boys. This insured the extermination of the Midianites and thus prevented them from ever again seducing Israel to sin….The virgins were spared because they obviously had had no role in the Baal of Peor incident nor could they by themselves perpetuate the Midianite peoples.”

We must understand that God dealt very harshly because it was through the people of Israel that the Messiah would later come. Satan, in his perpetual effort to oppose God, sought to have the people of God fall into false worship and through intermarriage with other people, to destroy the messianic line and make not only the promises of God null and void, but destroy means by which the Messiah could be born. If this could be accomplished, then none would have any hope of deliverance from sin. Therefore, we see in the Old Testament God being very harsh and strict according to the Law.

The Bible condemns even the slightest abuse to a child. I don’t know which verse reads the best Luke or Mark so I’ll type both of them for you.

  • Mark 9:42 KJV Jesus said
“And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in Me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.”

    Luke 17:2 KJV Jesus said
“It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.”

God clearly condemns even the tiniest abuse of a child so how much worse the condemnation or the great offense of sexual assault that hurts not only the body but warps the mind of the child.

May the Lord rebuke these people who harm little children and God clearly states that He will.

Prophet Like Unto Moses

Our Lord Jesus Christ
The Lord Jesus Meets the Criteria……To be the Prophet Like Unto Moses….

The Bible says that the Lord Jesus is the Prophet like unto Moses.

Acts 3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: (22) For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. (23) And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

1). The Lord Jesus was from the brethren of Deuteronomy 18. The Lord’s genealogy was special. He was a direct descendant of David and the Kings of Israel; thus, He qualifies to be Israel ’s King Messiah, the Savior of the world.

Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
The Bible establishes the Lord Jesus is of the brethren by His genealogy. His genealogy can be traced back to Abraham on both his adopted father and his mother, Mary. Both of these genealogies are traced back to Abraham through Judah .

In Deuteronomy 18, the context of the brethren is someone whose genealogy can be traced to one of Jacob’s 12 sons. Judah was one of the 12 sons, so the Lord Jesus by His genealogy qualifies to be one of the brethren of Deuteronomy 18. He is a direct descendant of one of the 12 tribes of Israel . The verse from Luke that proves this genealogical link follows:

Luke 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, (33) Which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of Juda, (34) Which was the son of Jacob, which was the son of Isaac, which was the son of Abraham,…

The Bible shows that even in heaven the Lord Jesus is identified as being from the tribe of Judah . In heaven, He did not lose the distinction of being from Judah . This distinction is actually enhanced. Even in eternity, He is identified as being one of the brethren of Deuteronomy 18:18. This verse follows:

Revelation 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

2). God spoke directly to Moses. God spoke directly through the Lord Jesus.

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

3). Moses was in the direct presence of God and glowed from God’s presence. Jesus was the direct presence of God, and He manifested the glory of God!

Matthew 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, (2) And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

4). Moses brought in a blood covenant relationship with God. The Lord Jesus brought in a better blood covenant with God. The better covenant gives the assurance of eternal life to all that believe.

Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament (covenant), which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

5). Moses did mighty miracles. Jesus did mighty miracles. The Lord Jesus raised a man from the dead after he was four days in the grave. The Bible reported only a few of the awesome miracles that the Lord Jesus did. These miracles were a sign of Him being the Son of God.

John 11:39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. (43) And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. (44) And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

6). Moses prophesied of the future. Jesus prophesied of the future. Like Moses, the Lord Jesus focused His prophecy on the Jews and their dispersion and restoration. The restoration of Israel and Jerusalem would occur just before His Second Coming. Just as the Lord prophesied, exactly happened to the Jews. Israel is once again a nation with Jerusalem as its capital.

Luke 21:7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? (23) But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land ( Israel ), and wrath upon this people (Jews). (24) And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

The Lord Jesus not only met the requirements of being the Prophet like unto Moses, but he exceeded them in all points. Moses was the servant of God, but the Lord Jesus was the Son of God; therefore, He was greater than Moses.

Hebrews 3:2 (Christ) Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. (3) For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. (5) And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; (6) But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

Jesus of Nazareth is the seal of the prophets and not Muhammad:

John 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

The Bible shows that the Lord Jesus is greater than Moses, as He is the Son God. God sent His Son into the world to die for our sin. Because of the death of the Lord Jesus on the cross, you can be forgiven of all sin and have assurance of eternal life with God.

When you trust the Lord Jesus as your Savior, God makes an eternal blood covenant with you. Please repent of sin and trust the Lord Jesus as your Savior. Eternal life is only through faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. He is the Prophet like unto Moses and those that do not listen to His message, God will require it of them.

1 John 5:9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. (10) He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

(11) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son (12) He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9

What it Means to be Prophet Like Unto Moses ………See Mohammad did not fit this description….

There are six outstanding characteristics that have to be met to be the prophet like Moses. The Bible teaches that Moses is different from all the other Old Testament prophets. To be the prophet of Deuteronomy 18, these six characteristics must be fulfilled. These requirements follow:

1). The prophet has to be from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The brethren of Deuteronomy 18 are the sons of Jacob. The brethren in the context of Deuteronomy 18:18 are the descendants of the 12 sons of Jacobs

Deuteronomy 18:1 The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel … 2 Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.

Deuteronomy 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

2). God spoke directly to Moses. All other prophets received their revelation by visions or dreams. Moses’ revelation was directly from the mouth of God.

Numbers 12:6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. (7) My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. (8) With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

3). Moses was in the direct presence of God. He saw the similitude or form of the LORD. Moses glowed from being in direct presence of God’s glory.

Exodus 34:29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. (30) And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.

4). Moses intorduced a blood covenant relationship with God. The other prophets built upon this covenant, but no other Old Testament prophet brought in a different covenant.

Exodus 24: 8 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words. (9) Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: (10) And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

5). Moses did mighty miracles. God used Moses to split the Red Sea .

Exodus 14:21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. (22) And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

6). Moses prophesied of the future. Moses gave entire chapters of prophecy. His prophecy centered on the people and nation of Israel .

Leviticus 26:42 Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. (44) And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the LORD their God. (45) But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.

PLAGIARISM BY Mohammad in the Quran

Front of the Quran

Image via Wikipedia

FACT…..

Mohammad had pre-Islamic sources to write his Quran….

The story of the she-camel which leapt out of a rock and became a prophet was known in Arabia long before Muhammad (Suwar 7:73-77; 54:27-29; 91:13-14).- The story of an entire village of people who were turned into apes because they broke the sabbath by fishing was a popular legend in Muhammad’s day (Suwar 2:65; 7:163-166).- The story of Moses and the gushing twelve springs is found in Surah 2:6 0ff and comes from pre-Islamic Arabian legends.- In what is called the “Rip Van Winkle” story, seven men and their animals slept in a cave for 309 years and then woke up perfectly fine (Surah 18:9-26)! This was also a popular story in Arabia at and before Mohammed’s time. This legend was also found in Greek and Christian folks fables from that time and before.- The fable of the pieces of four dead, cut-up birds getting up and flying was well known in Muhammad’s time (Surah 2:260).- The story about the birth of Mary in Surah 3:35-37 appears to be loosely based off of an apocryphal 2nd century work, The Protevangelion of James the Lesser.

Jewish sources that were used when developing the quranic revelation22:

– The Second Targum of the Book of Esther supplied the non-biblical details of the Queen of Sheba‘s visit to King Solomon(Surah 27:17-44).- The Testament of Abrahamprovided the teachings of the Qur’an found in Surah 42:17 and Surah 101:6-9, which relate that on the judgment day, a scale of balance will be used to weigh good and bad deeds, and to make the determination of whether people will be sent to heaven or hell. This Jewish work is also apparently quoted in Surah 87:19.- The story of murderous Cain and the raven (Surah 5:30-31) is found in several Jewish writings, such as the Pirqe of Rabbi Eleazer and the Targum of Jerusalem, both of which pre-date the Qur’an.- The tale of Abraham being delivered from Nimrod’s fire (Suwar 21:51-71; 37:97-98) originated in the Midrash Rabbah on Genesis.

– The Talmud provided the Qur’an with the story of Moses’ resurrection (Surah 2:55-57)

– The story of the golden calf which was made by Israel in the wilderness, in which the image actually leaps out of the fire and moos (Surah 20:80-98), comes from the Pirqe of Rabbi Eleazer.

– Lastly, the seven heavens and hells described at various points in the Qur’an can also be found in the Zohar and the Hagigah, and the hells are further described in the Midrash on the Psalms.

Was the Bible corrupted as Muslims claim?

We must remember that the Torah (the first five books of the Old Testament),the Zabur (the Psalms), the Injil (the Gospel) and the Sahaif (the books of the Prophets), which are mentioned in the Koran are the same the Torah, the Zabur, the Injil and the Sahaif found in the Holy Bible.

The Torah, the Zabur and the Sahaif are called the Holy Scriptures of the Jews, which we Christians call the Old Testament. The Injel is called the Holy Scriptures of the Christians which we call the New Testament. Some of our Muslim brothers sometimes say that the whole Bible has been falsified! Especially those who don’t like the moral constraints of the Bible want to say that the Bible has been changed since it was written. This is basically because they are not willing to consider the evidence honestly. There is absolutely no evidence that the Bible has been revised, edited or tempered with in any systematic manner.

As we know Mohammad Dib, a Bedouin shepherd of the tribe of Ta’ Amireh, in 1947, first found the Dead Sea Scrolls in the cave of Qumran when he went there to look for his lost goat. This Dead Sea Scroll proved that each word of the Holy Bible is correct and nothing has been changed. Now we will see how Koran testifies the Holy Bible.

Surah Al- Sajdah 23 says, “We did indeed a foretime give the Book to Moses; be not then in doubt of it’s reaching (thee); and We made it guide to the Children of Israel.”

Surah Al-Maidah 46 says “And in their (those of previous prophets) footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him; We sent him the Gospel; there in was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law that had come before him; a guidance and an admonition to those who fear God.”

Surah Al-Maidah 47 says, “Let people of the Gospel judge by what God hath revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what God hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel.”

Surah Al-Baqarah 62 says, “And those who follow the Jewish (Scripture), and the Christians and the Sabian’s, any who believe in God and the last day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on their shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.”

Surah Al-Baqarah 136 says, “We believe in God and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isaac, Ismail, Jacob and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to Prophets from their Lord; we make no difference between one and another of them; and we bow to God.”

There are still more verses in the Koran indicating that the Holy Bible are right path of truth in accordance with the will of God.

We know that Mohammad came this earth 600 years after the ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ. By that time how many thousands of the Holy Bible been distributed among the followers of Christ and the Church’s of Christ, we don’t know. Now if any Muslim says that the Holy Bible has been changed then the very simple question comes to our mind, then why Mohammad said in his time that the Torah and The Gospel (Old Testament and the New Testament) are true?

As for the Jews, their zeal in preserving their book is proverbial. They know the exact number of words and letters it contains, as all who have associated with their leaders know. Thus the Holy Bible in its entirety is free from alteration and change will never overtake it, as is witnessed by common sense and historic transmission. Since the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in Qumran, it has become abundantly clear that the copying and transmission of God’s Holy Book is living proof of the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church of Christ.

Now we will see what the Koran says about the Holy Bible.

Surah Al-Baqarah 38 says, “Who so ever follow my guidance, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.”

Surah Al-Baqarah 91 says, “Believe in what God hath sent down.”

Surah Ali Imran 3 says, “It is He who sent down to thee, in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it.”

Surah Al-Maidah 47 says, “Let the people of the Gospel judge by what God hath revealed therein.”

Surah Al-Maidah 68 recorded, “Say. ‘People of the Book! Ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord.’”

Surah Yunus 94 says, “If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book before thee: the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt.”

These verses like tens of others demonstrate unequivocally that the Koran came attesting to the veracity of the Torah and the Gospel confirming them and watching over them, that is, as a guardian and preserver.

If the Bible was corrupted before Jesus, why did not Jesus correct it for his disciples? After all, he received the Torah (The Law) from God. And if it was “beyond correction” why did he not tell his disciples to ignore it? Instead Jesus confirmed the Bible saying “Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” (Luke 24; 44).

If the Bible was corrupted by the Jews after Jesus, why did the Christians not protest this change in Scripture? And if it was the Christians corrupting the Bible, why did the Jews not protest? And if the Jews and Christians got together to change the Bible, why is there no record of this event?

Therefore, the Bible could not have been corrupted before or after Jesus. Every word of the Holy Bible is true and correct and these Muslims claims are not true.

New Ground Zero imam Apostates against Islam must be jailed

New Ground Zero imam: ‘Apostates against Islam must be jailed’

Those who leave Islam and preach against the Muslim religion must be jailed, declared the imam who has become the new face of the proposed Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero in New York City.

“If someone leaves the din, leaves the path privately, they cannot be touched. If someone preaches about apostasy, or preaches their views, they’re jailed,” stated Imam Abdallah Adhami in a November lecture obtained and reviewed by WND.

Adhami was discussing the Quranic view of apostasy, or Muslims who decide to leave the Islamic religion.

According to Shariah, or Islamic law, the consensus view in Sunni Islam is that a male apostate must be put to death unless he suffers from a mental disorder or converted against his will.

There are, however, differing views on the subject, with some contemporary Islamic scholars differentiating between public and private apostasy and arguing for actions ranging from death to nothing.

Adhami, speaking to a non-Muslim audience, claimed Islamic law only calls for punishment for public apostates and that most Islamic scholars demand only that public apostates be jailed as opposed to killed.

He claimed Islam was “revolutionary” for purportedly only punishing those who preach apostasy publicly, as opposed to other religions, which, he claimed, punish both public and private apostates.

“The Quran distinguishes between public and private apostasy,” he said, failing to note most medieval Islamic scholars did not make such a distinction.

Adhami admitted, “Yes, many jurists said [public apostates] have to be killed. … But the position of the state was the position of Islamic scholars – they must be jailed so they are contained.”

He said, “In Islam, in the Quran, theoretically, if you look over the Quran from cover to cover, you literally have the right to the choice to reject God’s message. The only thing you do not have the right to do is to spread this conviction, lest you, quote unquote, pollute others.”

Last week, WND broke the story that Adhami declared in a lecture Muslims have “more of a right” than Jews to the biblical prophet Moses.

In the same lecture, Adhami urged Muslims to “compete” with other religions.

Meanwhile, others have been scrutinizing Adhami’s background.

Writing at the NewsReal blog, writer Joseph Klein revealed Adhami was a guest speaker at the annual convention of the Islamic Association for Palestine in 2000. T he theme of the convention was “All Palestine is Sacred!”

Adhami was reportedly joined at the speakers’ rostrum by Dr. Sami Al-Arian, who pled guilty in 2006 to conspiracy to contribute services to or for the benefit of the Palestine Islamic Jihad.

IAP went defunct in 2005. It was established in 1981 by Hamas political operative Mousa Abu Marzook.

Like the ISNA, the IAP was named in a May 1991 Muslim Brotherhood document – titled “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America” – as one of the Brotherhood’s 29 likeminded “organizations of our friends.”

It would be kinda nice if someone mentioned Adhami’s remarks to NYC mayor Bloomberg. and for that matter get Obama;s reaction. Of course it’s not going to happen because the MSM will not allow it.

Return of Jesus

Gospel Preached in the Whole World – then The End will Come

Almost every Christian knows about the Great Commission. Jesus gave the Great Commission to the Church as their marching orders until His return.

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:18-20).

Jesus commanded us to proclaim the gospel to all peoples, making disciples and teaching them to obey everything He commanded.

However, some erroneously teach that we ourselves must complete the Great Commission before Christ can return. Here is the verse they quote.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come (Matthew 24:14).

The prophecy states that the gospel of the kingdom will be preached and then the end will come. Therefore, Christ cannot return until this message has been proclaimed in the whole world. However, this verse does not say who or how the gospel will be proclaimed to all nations. We might imagine that it would be the Church. Who else could proclaim the gospel to all nations?

The answer to this prophecy by Christ, is found in the Revelation 14:6-7.

Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth–to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water (Revelation 14:6-7).

If this is what Jesus was referring to, then we should expect to see the end following this proclamation. Sure enough, that’s what we do find, in verses 15-16.

Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, “Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested (Revelation 14:15-16).

So, the gospel will be proclaimed by an angel to the whole world and then the earth is harvested. We also know that the harvest is at the end of the age when Christ returns.

The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels (Matthew 13:38-39).

God doesn’t have to wait for the Church to complete the Great Commission. Jesus will return at the appointed time, whether the church is ready or not.

Pre-Mortal Life

    Pre-Mortal Life

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee,” Jeremiah 1:5 Before this mortal life, everyone existed as spirit children of God.

This is called the first estate (see Jude 1:6), everyone knew and worshiped God the Father (see Godhead).

Prior to being born as spirits, individuals existed eternally as intelligences or self-aware, individual entities whom God gave spirit bodies. The word intelligences, as used here, however, comes from the Book of Abraham, and refers to spirit children of God:

Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligences that were organized before the world was; …for he stood among those that were spirits…

The doctrine of our eternal nature:

Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be (see D&C 93:29).

The term Intelligence, as used here, is singular. Some Latter-day Saints, therefore, refer to spirit beings as “organized intelligence.” On this topic, Bruce R. McConkie, an apostle, wrote:

Abraham used the name intelligences to apply to the spirit children of the Eternal Father. The intelligence or spirit element became intelligences after the spirits were born as individual entities (see Mormon Doctrine, p. 387).

The Doctrine and Covenants sheds further light on the creation of spirit beings:

All truth is independent in that sphere in which God has placed it, to act for itself, as all intelligence also; otherwise there is no existence. Behold, here is the agency of man… (see D&C 93:30-31).

In other words, God placed truth and intelligence, which is co-eternal with God, in a sphere in order for that truth and intelligence to become independent, to have agency, to act for itself, to become a spirit being. Otherwise, there would have been no existence: there would have been no individual identity or consciousness.

At some point, Heavenly Father called a council in heaven, which all of his spirit children attended, and presented a plan of salvation.

There was a limit to man’s progression in the pre-mortal world. The goal was to become like Father Himself, who is a glorious, resurrected being, with an incorruptible body of flesh and bone. In order to progress, God’s children had to be tested, found worthy, and resurrected. Mortal life would provide each spirit being with a physical body. Through the physical body, mankind could be tested. The loss of memory of the pre-existence and the separation from God would force men to live by faith. The plan allows man to gain wisdom through experience, guaranteed by his free agency. The Plan of Salvation was devised by a loving God before the foundation of the world. It is the plan through which He can lead His children to the same exaltation He enjoys. Christ said of the creation of the earth:

We will go down, for there is space there, and we will take of these materials, and we will make an earth whereon these may dwell; And we will prove them herewith, to see if they will do all things whatsoever the Lord their God shall command them; And they who keep their first estate shall be added upon; and they who keep not their first estate shall not have glory in the same kingdom with those who keep their first estate; and they who keep their second estate shall have glory added upon their heads for ever and ever (Abraham 3:24-26).

Because man is guaranteed his free agency, the Lord presented the plan to His children, so they could have the choice to participate. Jesus Christ, also known as Jehovah, was the first-born of God in the Spirit. Through Him, all the worlds had been created. God and Jehovah knew that men would fall and sin. Therefore, they needed a savior and redeemer who could make an infinite atonement, satisfy the demands of justice, and enable men to return to the presence of God:

And now, behold, I will testify unto you of myself that these things are true. Behold, I say unto you, that I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon him the transgressions of his people, and that he shall atone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it.
For it is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made, or else all mankind must unavoidably perish; yea, all are hardened; yea, all are fallen and are lost, and must perish except it be through the atonement which it is expedient should be made.
Now there is not any man that can sacrifice his own blood which will atone for the sins of another. Now, if a man murdereth, behold will our law, which is just, take the life of his brother? I say unto you, Nay.
But the law requireth the life of him who hath murdered; therefore there can be nothing which is short of an infinite atonement which will suffice for the sins of the world (Alma 34: 8-9, 11-12).

As the plan was presented, Heavenly Father also told His children that they would be tempted, that life would be dangerous and painful, and that some may not make it to exaltation. Lucifer, one of the spirit children of God, said that he would become the redeemer. He promised to save all of God’s children by force, and he demanded God’s honor and glory for doing so. Lucifer’s plan would have destroyed the agency of man and thwarted the entire plan of salvation:

And the Lord said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man: Here am I, send me. And another answered and said: Here am I, send me. And the Lord said: I will send the first.
And the second was angry, and kept not his first estate; and, at that day, many followed after him (Abraham 3: 27, 28).

Lucifer declared war on God and Christ. One third of all the spirits sided with Lucifer. A war ensued, which Latter-day Saints refer to as the War in Heaven, and Lucifer and his followers were cast out of heaven. After being cast out of heaven, Lucifer became the devil. Lucifer and his followers were denied bodies. From this, Latter-day Saints understand that all who have been born and all who will be born, chose to follow Heavenly Father’s plan, because they have been given bodies.

Other events occurred in the pre-existence which have had important impact here on earth. Joseph Smith taught that all the prophets and apostles and many other leaders who have served mankind were fore-ordained to these positions before coming to this earth. This means that certain people, whom the Book of Abraham describes as “noble and great” were selected for special missions here on earth. The House of Israel was a distinct group in the pre-existence distinguished by their receptivity to spiritual things. They were fore-ordained to come down as the House of Israel and heirs of the Abrahamic Covenant to bless the earth by proclaiming the gospel.

While the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price offer the most clear teachings on pre-mortal life, there are references to Pre-Mortal Life in the Bible.

Job 38: 7 refers to the sons of God rejoicing when the world was created. Jeremiah 1:5 mentions that Jeremiah was selected as a Prophet before he was born. John 9:1 refers to a man who was born blind. The disciples of Jesus ask whether he sinned and was punished by being born blind, implying that they believed in a pre-existence. Jude 1:6 refers to the first estate, which implies there must be a second estate.
